I drove down hendon prom earlier for a look. .

Some asian lad and his lass were wave dodging further along. He got soaked by one. Thought it was all fun and games

Poor sod has been washed in off the bandstand ramp. Theres not a chances hes getting out of there tonight 😭😭

Helicopter and coastguard etc out in numbers.

Saw the lifeboats had gone out earlier. Here's hoping against the odds.

Been on Roker a few times in my past when big green ones have come over the neck end. I wish I could have videoed it so it could educate people of the speed and power of the sea.

Talking of Balcary, Chris Stringer was washed in off the flat rock one year, and was really lucky to be able to grab his mates (John Bohill?) line to be able to get out.

The flat rock was an awful place in any kind of sea. Out of nowhere, you'd get one just appear from nowhere and cover the place.

I remember Chris going in. I think you're right about it being Johns line he grabbed. He came very close that day....
Then there was the poor lad at the Amble open not many years ago. He died for the sake of a tackle box.
Like Chris, he was an experienced angler, but the sea doesn't care.

This season is shaping upto be a bad one so far like

Theres very few fish everywhere

Drove up lynemouth last night, nothing so didnt even bother fishing.

Drove to private beach at cresswell, conditions bang on. Nobody had a bite. Didnt even get the gear out.

Few of my mates at whitley bay. Shite

Came back home. People on shields said it was shite, marsden shite, whitburn shite.

Conditions were spot on. The fish have either been cleaned out by the trawlers or its just going to be one of them years.
