Good stuff, what plug were you using mate?

Just a single bodied one, only a shallow pond that has just come out of a flood, barely 4 feet deep.
The plug is a quick diving one, 2 trebles, one in the middle and one at the end.

They hit it quite hard. Caught 1 on one of those jelly type fish with one single hook at the top of the fish, however preferred the diving one.

Enjoyed it after deadbaiting on the reservoir with no luck however the water at long last is slowly clearing. Will go next week.

Ironically this is a private pond on a farmers feed and I’m the only person fishing it.
He always pops down with the dogs and has a chat 👍

Always a brucey bonus at the end. Sitting in the car buzzing. All them hundreds and hundreds of pounds spent make sense with fish like that.

The one I lost earlier the drop off bar dropped, the buzzer was going and I hit into it.
Went off like a train then dropped the bait.

I shouted FFS 🤣 couple of Carp lads 5 swims up from me could see I was into one.
They borrowed my scales and caught a few nice Carp (it’s full of them). Had a laugh.
Not my type of fishing.
On the Wye Thursday and Friday.

Pike on the Reservoir finishes 31st March. Hope to get a few more goes in before it closes. It’s a cracking venue.

Look it up:
Boddington Reservoir.

50,000 carp put in there!

It’s a massive water and you can walk right round it.
Popular with dog walkers and bird watchers.

The Carp average between 15 - 20lb. A few 30’s coming out and 20’s regular.
Feed all year round and it’s a very popular place to fish.

Regular matches and loads of bait constantly going in which is making them grow.

Some decent Silver fish and without doubt will be some big pike.
A 40lb one came out years ago but sadly died.

I Bailiff 4 days on and 4 days off collecting the money as day tickets only.
Anglers from all over the Country and not encountered one twat. In fact have a good laugh with most of them.
Some famous Carp match anglers fish regularly. Anglers Mail were down the other week writing an article and gets coverage on You Tube.

If you or anyone from the SMB was passing would sort you out for a day 👍🎣

I had a strange encounter with a bailiff while fly fishing at Witton Castle a few years ago ( it’s all changed now so we don’t go anymore)

This lad wanders up to me and asks if I’ve caught anything. We chat about fly lines and flies and then after about five minutes he whips out his ID and says he’s an Environment Agency bailiff and wants to see my licence.

I had one of course and also my day ticket but he was a bit secret spy type.

I think it’s just a coarse venue now. There used to be three lakes but they have added islands and stuff to them now.

We are planning to fish this Friday but either me or my mate has cancelled the last three times we were going to fish.

Fishing the beautiful River Wye at Aramstone tomorrow and Friday.
On the Estate of Venetia Williams the National Hunt Racehorse trainer.

Will make a change to the Winter Pike fishing and after Chub and Barbel.
Evidently the Bailiff was fishing for Salmon on it this week as the season started on the 1st March.

Set up rigs and making up PVA bags of pellets today. Will be taking my own made paste / boilee baits, pellets and luncheon meat that worked in October.

Taken last October - Just heavenly.

Fishing for Barbel with Luncheon Meat, that takes me back 🙂
6lb line straight through to a size 8 hook with a 3/4 oz coffin lead. Bit barbaric by modern standards 😂

Just found out it is now illegal to fish two marks in South Shields between 10 pm and 6.00 am.

The marks affected are the Walkway (old Velva Liquids site) and the middle dock, ferry landing, Mill Dam area.

The reason, they are close to houses and the residents are being disturbed.
