Traditional Loch Flies, and Sedgehogs, fished with floating lines, bit hot today 26c up in Kinbrace, we all caught plenty. What type of fishing mate?
Were you surface fishing or using buzzers?
I love fly fishing on the surface.Traditional Loch Flies, and Sedgehogs, fished with floating lines, bit hot today 26c up in Kinbrace, we all caught plenty.
Normally bait on them beaches mind near trow rocks iirc. Especially early on. Not many lads fish for them so I’d imagine the ones that have been caught either fishing for the mackerel or the bait on the bottom. Try a gulp ragworm or fresh rag.Lads catching mackerel from the rocks near Marsden yesterday morning.
Fished again today on a north east clean beach looking to target early bass.
I think the water needs another degree or so. But I’m hearing tales of bass being caught already.
Used lures. The offshore wind was a good help on the dropping tide but it was too strong. Waders on following the tide down. Very small swell.
Tried metals, Sandeel imitations, a load of Savage Gear stuff the lot and got nowt.

We live a mile from a canal and over the years it has been populated by Zander.
Thinking in the next few weeks to have a go either live or dead baiting for them.
Small spinners will catch them.
You can eat these.
Probably. Do you have to kill them?
It is an offence to trap and remove any crayfish (native or non-native) in the North West of England without a licence.I think the rule used to be that you had to remove them.
Not sure now.
Signal crayfish though another matter. Full of them.
