That Time When Shearer

He's appealing to the ref, shouting and bawling but as soon as keane appears he knows his place.

What a truly stupid comment - he shouts to the ref to get Keane sent off. He gets the reaction he wanted. He then stands his ground whilst looking smug.

This could be bollocks like but there was a rumour that Liam Lawrence was kicked out, not over the porn video but him and Keane had a set to in Keanes office and Lawrence got the better of him.

More than a rumour. Keane gives his side of the story in his book. Am unsure whether or not Lawrence would be in full agreement with this take:

The trouble started when the winger was forced on the sidelines during an 11 v 11 game on the training ground when there were too many players.

"He wasn't happy about it, and stormed into the dressing room," Keane writes. "He said he wasn't going to stand on the sideline.

"I said, 'See you in my office'."

The discussion in the office became more heated, but Keane needed to stamp his authority on the situation.

"It was a proper shouting match; it was more than that. It was intense."

"I think I might have grabbed him – there might have been a bit of grappling, when he started to leave the office.

"This was the first time a lad had defied me – and in front of the other players. So I'd had to think fast."

Keane admitted to "admiring" Lawrence for standing up for himself, but when Stoke called the following morning, he decided it was time to leave the player go.

"I said 'Yeah' – but not because of the bust-up."

Great game that was. Second season in a row Keane sent off at our place too. Great player but a total headcase. Shearer played him good and proper. Think Fergie joined him in the dressing room for one of them too.

Not too dissimilar to when McAteer did it.

Aye, he should have waded in and got himself sent off too. Keane even admitted himself that Shearer made him look like a mug, don't see what the argument is.

The facts are, 'ex-boxer' Keane totally missed from 2 yards and then was 'held back' by Beckham. Shearer stood his ground, kept his cool and made Keane by his own admittance, look like a mug.

There is another story about what happened outside the coach as Man United were leaving but who knows how true it is.

It was a nervous laugh. Proper bottled it.

As someone has already stated Shearer stood his ground. He didnt bottle it, what did you want him to do have a full on fight on the pitch? Also getting himself sent off? Shearer made Keane look like a mug end of convo.

Not at all. Keano dominated the situation. Shearer practically curled up into a little ball. I'll bet he was embarrassed with himself after the game and to then apologise to Keane

Dominated the situation so much he missed from 2 yards, got held back by Beckham, was sent off and then admitted Shearer made a mug of him?

That sort of domination? :lol::lol::lol:

A boxer? He had a couple of amateur fights as a Bairn and that's it.
Shearer wanted to know about as much as Keane did with mcateer. Hardly going to start rolling about on pitch are they. It's a nice safe ground to throw a few verbals and chuck handbags about knowing full well nothing's going to happen.

Bowyer and Dyer did
