He didn't bottle Keane at all mind. Pretty sure in keanes first book he admits that Shearer wound him up and was laughing at him after he'd been sent off. I know Shearer not most popular on here but I fail to see why he'd bottle a little skinny kid like Keane.

You're better than that.

Fuck off.

A nothing incident really - Shearer gives him a gentle push, Keane throws the ball at him, Shearer calls him a prick, Keane throws an utterly pathetic punch, they both walk backwards, then Keane gets his red and runs at Shearer only to be "held back" by Beckham.

If a couple of schoolkids had a run in at lunch time like that it would have been forgotten by home time. Don't think either man really added to their profile at all with that. Keane will be disappointed he took the bait and that's it really.

love these "shearer took the piss out of us with his statue,so i'm gonna make a comfort blanket thread talking utter bollox about him on RTG" persts leek...CHERTLE!!!

What a load of old bollocks. Keane wasnt likely to start punching someone on the pitch he was a wiry fucker but he wasnt stupid. Shearer wound him up and got him sent off, he then stood his ground as Keane had a tantrum.
