Technology for offsides

There would. Because humans make errors. It's difficult to see across a moving line whilst looking at the fraction of a second a ball is played 50 yards away and deciding with total certainty that someone was not ahead of that line

But as you say the linesman get about 95% of the offsides right throughout the season

If your on the end of a bad call tough shit happens plus wedve have nowt to argue about

Why couldn't it be instantaneous? It's the same concept if the rule is simple.

Ball kicked freeze frame with line of last defender.

The technology is already there.

The 'last defender' is dynamic whereas a goal line is static. If they could implement it so that it would be instantaneous, which like you say would also need a change in the rules, then great. You're the first person I've seen mention the possibility of it being instantaneous though - everyone else who wants it suggests it being checked in various ways, resulting in a delay in play.

Whatever the rights and wrongs it is question of when not if.

In 20 years time it will looked upon, how daft it was that decisions effecting possibly millions of pounds were left to just the hunan eye.

It's time football moved into the 20th century and with all the money flowing in and clever people in this world there should be a way to make techology work.

It's simply unfair that a team could lose a big game because of a mistake by a ref and also unfair that a ref gets loads of grief for a entirely understanable mistakes

Unless you bring in technology for everything, some decisions/mistakes will still be down to the referee.

Most people aren't as forward thinking as me

The less you limit to just the human eye, means more correct.

cricket and rubgy fans still seem to enjoy wickets and trys despite the wait sometimes.

The rules a joke atm..that sanchez goal against us at the emirates pissed me right off...the interfering with play excuse is just for lazy players who cant be arsed too keep themselves onside....for me if ya in the 18 yard box your in the phase of play simples...

The rules need changing back to when football was good. No second phase shite and players three yards offside in the middle of the box being classed as not interfering. It's f***ing bollocks.
How about an even better idea.Scrap offside altogether or scrap it outside the Penalty Box.
Either that or go back to the good old days when 99% of us knew what was going on-stuff interference/non interference if you are offside you are!!!

Scraping it would just encourage hoofball, leave a big bastard or two up front and as soon as you get the ball twat it up to him, have one or two finishers nearby for the knockdown and camp everyone else in your own box. Pulis would f***ing love it

Same for both sides.Equally its 11 V 11 so if they leave two upfront you should have two defenders to cover them.

Would be like that if introduced in football. Imagine that delay all the time...
Wouldn't have to be the refs on the pitch, there could be a video room where 2 refs analyse while celebrations are ongoing. Would take 10 seconds, especially for offsides. Majority of of pens could also be decided in 10 seconds, 20 max

There we gan pens now what next

Throw ins corners etc

We'd end with bout 10 mins added time with all these reviews plus subs

Yes because that's where people would state you've got it for off sides why not throw ins etc

It's be th thin end of a thick wedge

Just leave it as it is
Because penalties and offsides cause the most controversy as they more often than not result in goals (or not). Throw ins don't
