Starts at 23k, you can work up in stages to 39k. Deputy head and headships are a possibility after that if you so desire.
Primary or secondary?

£23k only worth it for a post grad really. Ok for a 22/24 year old kid, but beyond that......

For such an important investment in the future of our country, good teachers should get far more. The amount of funding that our right-wing government give to Education is not only an absolute disgrace it is false economy for the whole country.

For so many teachers knowing they have inspired children is worth far more than any physical remuneration. That's why they are a class above the bell-end blue suits you find strutting around Canary Wharf. The issue is though that they do need to be able to live and support families. 23 Large isn't a huge salary for a bright and inspiring worker. Too often good teachers get disillusioned and leave or they just can't afford to make ends meet.

But the country voted in the government.....

Why do PE teachers wear their gym gear all the time? The dad of one of the kids at my son’s nursery is one and every time I see him he’s in his PE Teacher/gym gear.
So everyone can tell the difference from them and proper teachers, Ofsted won't bother them either schools don't fail if the PE lessons are crap.

There were more shite teachers when new labour were in power and introduced SATs and league tables. At least hopeless teachers can be binned now.

Hopeless teachers could always be binned.

The tories changed things to create the fear factor in schools so staff wouldn’t question being shafted or they can be dismissed in six weeks.

Seen it plenty of times. Question or disagree with the SLT and suddenly your cards are marked and they can put people of capabilities with pretty much no comeback.

It’s f***ing shocking tbh
