Takeover News/Rumours - Part 42

I’m not foaming at the thought of Johnson, however it’s league 1. After we fucked up Poyet he’s potentially best of a bad bunch.
The January window is key for me as we need investment, salary cap or not. Johnson’s first task is to get a tune out of Grigg, if he can do that we’ve got a goal threat again. Needs 4 wins out the next 5 games like, otherwise fans will be wanting his head.
Get real this little short rse is the worst appointment we could make

Think he means KS. His first job after the coach is getting a head of recruitment in.
I get that but for many, anything and I mean ANYTHING associated to MSD will not be accepted until success on the pitch is seen. I don’t blame fans for thinking this and no supporter should be dug out for having this view.
KS kept referring to the ownership group which sounds more like what we’ll have rather than the two plonkers we had running the show on their own

It's a bit uncertain what role that person would have though. I wouldn't say DOF as I think that's KS job in a different title. I think it'll be more of a head scout that has responsibility for the scouts and recruitment analysts.

Nope. He reckons the next appointment will be a head of recruitment.

I disagree. I think this will be the subordinate tasked with first team recruitment. So you get KS with three direct reports in a head of academy, head of recruitment, and head coach.

Ha He’s not my choice or somebody who I think means we are aiming high like Poyet was, but Christ given that we’d interviewed chumps like Sol Campbell and been linked with people like O’Shea and Terry, this is 100% not the worst appointment.

Seems obvious to me at this point that this has nothing to do with Donald, apart from the fact he's selling his controlling stake.

The structure is exactly the way we should be heading, modernising recruitment and using our Academy as a primary focus. No way is Donald gonna authorise the finances to do this and hire an established Championship head coach.

Lee Johnson wouldnt have been my preferred choice, but I think we seem to be making some good moves for the long term. Hopefully LJ can get us playing good football and in the top 2 by seasons end.

This is a complete guess but, I am of the assumption that there will be a classification and option to purchase shares at certain trigger points, or after a certain period of time.

I would suspect that KLD will have the option over SD and JS over CM shares. This triggered at either say a) promotion to the Championship at a certain price, and or b) promotion to the Premier League, or c) after fixed periods of time.

i suspect that the voting rules contained within the Shareholders Agreement, will also ensure that there is some restriction that prevents either of KLD or JS alIgning with minority shareholders to outvote the other major shareholder.

Via the above structure, KLD and JS would have control on all decision making with SD only receiving further enhanced payments when the club actually succeeds. CM would effectively be holding his 5% based on a latter return whereas SD gets a partial return now and reduces his financial liabilities.

Sounds very plausible but it won't abate the numerous SMB posters who are convinced SD and CM remain at the helm.

This place used to be decent it’s just embarrassing now it really is

Anyone who thinks SD has had anything to do with the new manager, the sporting director of in fact has has Anything to do with the massive restructure that will and is happening is a f***ing idiot

Donald and Charlie will have shares - yes not what we wanted granted however they will do next to nothing at the club

They will hang around until satori and KFD settle in and find someone to buy them both out. It’s a transition

Really is not hard to follow

As for johnson, he will do well, young head coach who can build and work within the new structure that is going to be in place! Any other league one club and the vast majority of championship teams would see him as a good appointment

Campbell would be the worst no doubt. O’Shea and Terry are complete unknowns. With Johnson we know what we’re getting. Someone who’s done absolutely nowt at every club he’s been at and never in his career had a win % better than 40%. Even Parkinson had a better cv than this bloke and everyone knew how that would turn out. Can’t see this being anything but a disaster.

Parkinson had a remarkable cup run and a couple of league one promotions so it might appear that way superficially but his record in the championship is very poor. Johnson has significantly greater potential to keep us in that division if he can get us there.

It's truly bizarre. People are literally talking about how Speakman says the opposite of Donald. Speakman says he's been given autonomy to implement the things he wants and people are saying "those things won't happen with Donald still running things". It doesn't take a genius to understand that it's not Donald's vision that is being implemented!

Whingers like to whinge, moaners like to moan. I think its that engrained in some of our fans, after years of torture that they can think no other way.

Im sorry, but no chance Parkinson has a better CV. Plus, we all know that guy is a f***ing clown, going to take a lot for anybody to be worst than him

You have missed my point completely mate. As I said whilst Donald/Methvan/Rodwell are still at the club people will be sceptical. Surely that is not too hard to understand given what has a proceeded today?

Read your own post " particularly now as we are lead to believe Rodwell (their man) has recruited Speakman "
