They certainly dont.All the people in Whitburn say they are from Sunderland
So always South Tyneside and South Shields then.Lived in Cleadon for the majority of her youth and then Westoe village.
No surprise that Wolf Alice won. Nadine Shah has 300k+ on her best YouTube video while WA has 3.9 million.
NS has one commercially viable track in Fool, the rest are in the Echo/Nick Cave category.
NS comes across canny in interviews and as a proud South Shields lass deserves our support but a lot of people stand to fill their boots with this winner.
If only there'd been a power cut this would have been a congratulations threadSo she didn't win... f***ing south tynesider
It really wasn't a great shortlist, in terms of stuff pushing boundaries.Bland indie-by-numbers wins, so dull.
Just cos it's commercial doesn't mean it's the best album.No surprise that Wolf Alice won. Nadine Shah has 300k+ on her best YouTube video while WA has 3.9 million.

Like Emeli Sandé?
Also a Sunderland Lad who first signed her up to his artist management company (this is the company - https://www.magneticmag.com/2017/05...r-love-of-music-at-the-center-of-their-focus/)
Although despite being born and raised in Sunderland, he ended up supporting the Mags
Of course they doThey certainly dont.
Absolute rubbish, as usual.Of course they do
Her biography describes Sunderland as "a cumbrian town"Hates Sunderland.
I saw her a few years ago at the Cluny supporting Ghostpoet and I was pretty unimpressed. However, she comes across really well in that interview and her performance last night at the Mercury Awards was tremendous. I do believe Lucas Renney from the Golden Virgins is sometimes her guitarist and she's done Golden Virgin covers in her sets before. Despite the fact that she's a private school girl I think she's alright.Canny article in the Guardian a few days ago;
Nadine Shah: ‘My personal life was so awful I wanted to escape’
The old fella at the end of the bar in the Jolly Sailor is ex Sunderland director Ted Evans.
Wow! Never knew that.
You all live in the County of DurhamAll the people in Whitburn say they are from Sunderland
