We are the 8th longest serving club in the PL.

The other 7 are in the top 7, whilst promoted clubs since us are all above us.

An astonishing accomplishment then. Considering 6 of the top 7 have had years of relative success playing in the Champions League, winning trophies and being among the richest clubs in the world.

While we've had to claw our way up from the depths of the third tier, we've managed to outlast all those that have come up, only to crash and burn in the top flight. And here we are, clinging by our fingernails to keep it going for yet another season.

I'm guessing you're rightly proud of this amazing achievement having highlighted just how difficult it has been for those Premier League pretenders.

Yet are still above us? 10 years in the league, still in the bottom 3. Amazing progress

Oh, you want us to be a yoyo club like our local rivals?

This is clipped from one of my earlier posts and doesn't include 07/08.

In the eight seasons since Short took majority control in 08/09:

Seven of the teams in the PL in 08/09 are no longer there (Championship - Villa, Fulham, Wigan, Blackburn, Mags; League One - Bolton; League Two - Portsmouth).
Four of the PL teams that season have been relegated and come back up (took til this season for Boro).
In total, nineteen different teams have been relegated (a few more than once) and only FIVE of those are in the PL today.
Twenty different teams have been promoted (a few more than once) and only ten of those are in the PL today.

Clearly, staying in the PL, let alone progressing, is an immensely difficult task. Under Short's tenure we have hovered between being the 10th and 17th best team in the country for eight years.

The "never had it so good brigade" are a big reason why we are we are.

15 seasons in the PL = 15th

Eh? Do you not believe the time we have been in the league should not represent better placed finishes? In 10 years, there has been zero progress.

I don't understand at all what point you are trying to put across
