Is Ryhope dene safe from the development about to start
Showing on YouTube now, lovely looking bird hope it manages to get back on course before winter.
had a Great Grey Shrike this morning at Blackhall Rocks. Rarely seen round here.
Winter is coming.
Sorry for the delay, it's been a busy time.
The pair were doing well and seemed happy in their new home, they both enjoy flying in the aviary and finding the food we hide around the place.
Around a fortnight ago the female Bonnie had a go at me when I went to clean out the nestbox ..... when I looked in there was an egg!
It seems they lay a batch but with a few days in between so the owlets don't all hatch on the same day demanding food.
It's amazing how her and Skye know exactly what to do, she sits on the eggs and he brings her food.
I'll keep posting, as things progress, if people are interested .... it's all exciting but a little scary hoping they're all OK.
That's brilliant. Fingers crossed for the eggs.
Aw man that's fucking class that. Deserves its own thread imo so we can follow the progress!
Good idea, actually.
Updates would be great.
Agreed! 5 eggs is amazing for a barn owl. They'll need plenty bait @Reiver
Rather than start a new thread I'll stick it on here So, barn owls ....
That's where it all began and it was great to see so many decent people giving up their Friday night to offer advice
