Wasn't being totally serious but still think to type up loads about their finances a bit sad.

When did finances become so important for fans anyway? It a new breed of modern fan in my opinion.
They’re not if you’re content to stick your fingers in your ears / head in the sand, and then just whinge on when clubs suffer from years of over reaching and have to drastically cut their cloth to make amends.

nice one GoM, although it is not 'crystal clear', where finances are concerned nothing ever is...my own thoughts were that the gamble paid off mainly due to the 100M tv it will generate although i suspected they might have to tighten the belt to some degree but many on here were predicting mass gloom for them.

considering ashley added yet another 15M to the pot my guess would be that rafa will not get the funds he will want which may lead to him walking, if so, from that point on it could go either way.

we're better than this. Haven't read the post. Don't intend to. Appreciate the OP's knowledge on our finances but analysing their accounts? Ha'way man.

Their belts will need to be tighter than the likes of Martin will tolerate, that's for sure. But that's a long way from being deep in the brown and sticky stuff, which is where they would certainly have been if they'd "done a Villa".

Simply put mate, I was asked to do it. So I did.

So in terms of signing players this summer it will just about be sell to buy and expect to break even on players signed and sold?

I expect us to get 16-18m for mitrovic then shift a bit more of the deadwood and spend 30-35m on one quality player plus a few squad players.

Can see Benitez staying for at least another year as he is adored, on big money and close to his family. Reckon we will be around 9th-12th next season.

Personally I'm bored of all the fake takeover talk and Ashley abuse. They just all need to get on with what they have got

Managed a 40 odd million spend last summer, so I'd expect it to be comfortably more this summer considering a year' worth of pl tv money has flowed through the club. With a decent figure being raised from the expected sales of mitro and Mbemba plus a few others colback, darlow and hopefully joselu

i watched some of their games and in all honesty they were very lucky, remember one game where they looked like they would never score if the game lasted all day, when a hoof at the ball (could never deem it a shot) took about 3 deflections and went in, they were pretty close to losing out on auto.

I could see us spending 50m max and that's only if we know we are getting in 35m or so in sales as well.

Mitrovic, darlow, mbemba, colback, Joselu, and merino are the players I expect to leave and that should bring in around 35-40m whilst slicing 200k a week off the wage bill.

However we might only see that come in over 2/3 years whilst we insist on paying for transfers up front.

Can see us been in that middle pack again next season which would be fine by me for now

Interesting read, somehow though the mags always seem to take gambles and it pays off. Isn't it about time they get what's coming, lucky buggers. I was hoping all season they would drop back down again but I think they'll be in the Prem for awhile now.

I' be happy with that tbh, I think wages will be the issue rather than transfer fees, a good player is 100k a week now. Think lascelles is only on 35k so he needs to be brought up to be our top earner imo

Oh, I guess that a description of me might help you a bit more, righto.

I'm the guy who thinks that you must be an absolute knacker, coming into this thread and posting a heap of abject pish that you aren't even remotely interested in.

As for your excuse of the thread title not pertaining to the content, fair dos, but the second line of the opening post does - did you have to read on from there before the light bulb above your head turned on? Wowza!

How stupid are you? Did your parents have any children that lived?

Calm down, I wasn't even responding to you. Was just giving my opinion.

Posting about parents, you've lost the plot

I am a football supporter, not a financial adviser

Why not just leave it at that then instead of insulting a decent post/poster ?

Insulting? @Grumpy Old Man even said he's not arsed and realizes not everyone likes his posts.

Funny people like you getting outraged on his behalf.

Oh that was years ago

Clearly

And therein lies the difference in quality between our analysis of them, and their analysis of us
Isn't it a case of the difference between the analysis done by someone with an axe to grind and someone who hasn't. I have no input to what MM comes out with and you have none that GOM has produced, so less of the theirs and ours. For the record, GOM appears to analyse with balance which would lead me to trust his analysis over MM.
