SMB Tennis thread

Always remember the 2015 final against Djokovic, dont think I have ever seen Djokovic as outplayed in a slam final as he was that day.

Wawrinka for me deserves more credit than he gets, won 3 of the 4 slams and on his day he is literally unbeatable. He should have won a lot more than he has.

I still think that Wawrinka performance and Tsonga's v Nadal in 2008 are the best individual performances I've seen. Just completely lights out flawless tennis.

Pretty amazing couple of months for Konta. I was still putting a little * on that Rome final coming into this, but she's legit playing some of the best stuff of her career. She's now gone 14-3 on CLAY, this after never previously winning a match at the premier clay tournament. I was anyway, but I'm even more looking forward to Muguruza vs Stephens later on. What a nice surprise this has been.

Fair play to Eurosport as well, showing Wawrinka vs Tsitsipas when they could have easily shown Federer live ITV are. Loving this slam, whereas it's traditionally my least favourite slam by far.

Konta could get overseas sports personality here;)

True Brit, Chops lad :p

Tsitsipas is a bit of an arsehole like. Good for the game though I think.

The rivalries between the likes of him, Zverev, Medvedev and Kyrigos over the next decade or so is gonna be very entertaining. All of them have more than a little bit of edge.

Surbiton Challenger draw out. Some fairly big names in there - Evans, Brown, Karlovic, Lopez, Tomic etc. and there's some interesting R1 matches tomorrow. Paul Jubb has been awarded a WC after recently winning the college NCAA's in America the other week, and he plays James Ward first.

Women's qualifying draw will be out sometime after 6pm. Heather Watson should be involved as well as a few top 100 players.

Looks a good field that. Shame there's nowt like that up here.

Wawrinka and Tsitipas playing an epic match
Federer watching from his room with a smile on his face.
Nadal through easily, can't see him being best by anyone other than Djokovic

That was great. Probably my favourite match of the year so far. He was second best for 99% of that last set.

Stan v Fed on Tuesday as well, it just keeps getting better.

Wow. What a harsh way to end after an absolute epic. Great shot, but can't have been more than mm's in that.

Superb effort by both, but we'll done Stan.

Want fed to win but Stan has the better game to beat Nadal i feel

Konta vs Stephens in the quarter final then. I was hoping it would have been Muguruza.

Konta won in Rome a couple of weeks ago, and even though surface conditions are similar, I don't think we can take too much from that result. Not beyond her at all though.

Reckon she has a chance to win the tournament

Last day of a widespread order of play tomorrow as I'm pretty sure Tuesday and Wednesday will be just one women's QF and one men's QF on the two main courts with a 1pm UK start time (it was last year).

COURT PHILIPPE-CHATRIER

S.KENIN vs A.BARTY [8]
N.DJOKOVIC [1] vs JL.STRUFF
D.THIEM [4] vs G.MONFILS [14]
S.HALEP [3] vs I.SWIATEK

COURT SUZANNE-LENGLEN

K.SINIAKOVA vs M.KEYS [14]
K.NISHIKORI [7] vs B.PAIRE (to finish)
F.FOGNIN [9] vs A.ZVEREV [5]
K.KHACHANOV [10] vs JM.DEL POTRO [8]
A.ANISIMOVA vs A.BOLSOVA

Unless you're a dedicated fan of them individually, some of these earlier Nadal, Djokovic and, more surprisingly here, Federer matches are a bit boring. At least Eurosport are running dedicated coverage on both their main channels this week (would have been better last week), so you can easily watch Kei-Paire without needing the player.
