Depends what you mean by "this". The invasion itself is down to Putin, he's officially the aggressor and breaking international law. That's clear enough and easy to see he's to blame for that.
When historians look back at these conflicts, they look deeper into the roles of the various players, internal and external political pressures which contribute to the conflict. Zelensky inherited a very delicate situation and promised a peaceful end to the civil war - I don't think he handled it well. I can't say how much difference it would have made, none of us can if we're being honest, but he's done as much sabre rattling as anyone here and finds himself fighting off an invasion force.
