Indeed. And that’s where Speakman’s comments about improvement were always going to be put under the microscope. Because if the club expect progress and an improvement on last season whilst seeing our two leading scorers and arguably best players depart without financing adequate replacements then they’re on another planet.
They have 24 hours to do that now despite knowing Amad was away and Stewart was likely to depart after not signing a new deal. That is cutting things incredibly fine and doesn’t reassure me about succession planning at all. Under previous regimes, any business we do tomorrow would be labelled panic buying.
Do you think we would've went up last season had Ross Stewart stayed fit?
Same as last year then, when we narrowly missed out. If Stewart was fit last year, we would've went up.Frail at the back , lacking a DM , no striker back up , injury potential to Stewart himself
Definitely a proposition that would stop me having cake.So this is the down side of the model that most posters loved when we were flying with young players.
You can’t have your cake and eat it.
I’ll drop them off tomorrow cos i’m up in NairnRoss County have said they’ll accept a can of Irn Bru and a deep fried Mars Bar.
Its not last year. Harder league , teams know us, no Amad , who knows if Stewart will be as mobile .Same as last year then, when we narrowly missed out. If Stewart was fit last year, we would've went up.
Is it a harder league? It's very early to say thatIts not last year. Harder league , teams know us, no Amad , who knows if Stewart will be as mobile .

This hope he turns absolute shit and is never the same player he was pre injury . Not spiteful at all me .If he goes he’s dead to me![]()
I hope he stands bare footed in dog shite and his lass starts giving him Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshires on his Sunday dinnerThis hope he turns absolute shit and is never the same player he was pre injury . Not spiteful at all me .
Will you still quote it if we improve the squad tomorrow?
Yes I will.
Thank you Ross Stewart, class player who our ownership didn’t think was worth keeping for an extra £5k per week that he was offered. The lad has simply exercised his right by not agreeing the contract we have offered him. He has moved to get paid what he and Southampton believe he is worth and with a club who think he is a better option than Cannon even though he is currently injured and six years older. Without him we might still be in L1.
