Russell Martin has Ross Stewart as his main target **Transfer confirmed **

Irreplaceable, at least not for the money we will have got. They will obviously spend nowhere near that on a replacement as they would have just paid him the wages he wanted if so. We've lost the best striker in the division because the owners are determined to have one of the smallest wage bills. I firmly believe he would have gotten us promoted last season and this season if he was fit. The way Mowbray is talking he is fed up too, like Alex Neil. We are going nowhere soon under these owners, their plan is to run the club on a shoestring and buy cheap players then flip them for a profit, if we get promoted it's a happy accident and not something they are focusing on. The team is weak all over, no decent strikers, no back ups at left or right wing, no proper defensive midfielder, playing a midfielder at center back, no decent back up at right back. All the excitement, enthusiasm, and hope built up last season is well and truly gushing away for me and I predict years of meandering around midtable championship. One step forward, two steps back.
Well put across i agree with everything you have said. I hope the club prove me wrong next 28 hrs 🤞🏻

On Saturday morning I will quote KS interview in May, when he talks about the clubs target of improving our 6th position from last season and the challenge to improve the quality of our squad to improve our chances of a top finish.

I cannot believe we have allowed this to happen. Thank you Ross Stewart all the best at Southampton, Russell Martin is a good judge.

Will you still quote it if we improve the squad tomorrow?

That should have been us because we can’t afford to replace him

That depends how much we end up getting for him. Sell him and bring in two I think the squad is more balanced and we have options. I see your logic because if he stays fit he's an absolute beast at this level. Hopefully this is a case if two in the hand is worth more than one in the bush.

:lol: Thanks for the warning, you self important pudding.

KLD and TM have NO excuses now for not spending that money. They know if they don't they will get pelters from everyone.
Got nowt to do with tony mobray he’s neither spending the money nor choosing the players, that’s the whole point of him being a coach and having a dof….of course if it goes to shit, good chance he will be the one taking the fall

How's that, the model would never revolve around selling your best players at the point of having 12 months left on a contract. If you honsetly believe we will uncover another Stewart for £100k anytime soon you're welcome to that thought marra.
We will have to spend the money and hope whoever we get fits in.
Plenty teams uncover players for relative peanuts and make massive profits all the time. If you want to be an eternal pessimist then that's up to you.

My point is more that the model is not to then buy a player who is currently better than Stewart, but a better young player than we've previously bought, who has the potential to he better than RS.

@biggie knows his stuff man

Played for Newcastle and Leeds

Between 10-12m is good for the situation we were in imo

It is. I always thought the club would take £8m for him as soon as it was becoming obvious the contract was an issue. To get a bit more is good but only if very well reinvested. He’s a major loss and with him and Amad not here from last season, we’ve a nigh on 30 goal hole to plug in the space of 24 hours

I agree. Big pressure to pull something out of the hat tomorrow.
