You got any races booked on or just running to see how far you can go?Felt bad that I was in London drinking over the weekend so forced myself out tonight , glad I did as managed the furthest I've ever done which is 25k
Maybe slow but over the moon that I can actually see progress
It's horrible isn't it.I must admit I don't know if it's my age or if I'm a soft shite but am I hell going out in this rain. I haven't been out all week so I'm starting to feel a bit anxious.
I've never used runna but I'd find a plan which works for you eg around how many days you want to run. At this stage you should still be building a base and just running consistently and as a beginner, definitely not running two long runs in a row.signed up for the GNR this year always hated the event as i got blocked in my street for the day, i have always hated running but thought i need to do it at least once,
started runna, half way through my first block, what im struggling with it recovery, i work shifts so i cant have set days and sometimes when im running 2 longish days in a row my body is killing me,
any tips /advice,
I'm aware there's still 7 month but basically in November when i started i could barley run

PS I'm no expert, just my thoughts from what I've picked up from coaches, plans and podcasts over the 4 years I've been running.
Signed up yesterday just before deadline and was successful. Only entered as my 21yr old son wanted to run it.Anyone enter The Blaydon Race ballot?
Find out tomorrow.
Shambles last year when 500 odd decided the weather was shit and didn’t bother.

Said I wouldn't do it again after last year as it was starting to turn into a mag love in with "wor flags" being there and shouts of "toon army".

Just gotta wrap up and grind it out.....winter miles equals summer smiles, or winter training leads to summer gainingNeed to get out today, but this weather is a joke.
I did it a few times 2014-17ish, and it was fine. Did it last year for the first time in a decade and like you said it's really bad for that now. Entered the ballot this year (cos my mate is doing it) but I was a bit relieved to miss out TBH. It is a proper Mag-fest now, more so than it was.Signed up yesterday just before deadline and was successful. Only entered as my 21yr old son wanted to run it.
