I've just done a 2km this lunchtime and my shins are hurting a bit, but not my calf!
How the hell do you stretch out your shin?!

OK. I laid off for three weeks, took it easy when I started again, bought some new running shoes and I’ve had no more Achilles problems. The only thing is the running shoes are half a size too small and have caused the worst blister/cut. I’m now waiting for that to heal, and will start again this weekend. I had to buy the shoes online during lockdown, so couldn’t try them, and didn’t realise until a couple of runs in they were too small . So that’s £120 down the drain. If it weren’t for the size they’d be spot on. ASICS gel cumulus
Also doing some very gentle yoga on non-run days and that seems to help
Sounds like shin splints.Oh. That's probably not good is it.

I dont and my long run is typically 16-20 miles, I've been taking a bottle of water the last couple of weeks but dont even generally bother with that, I get up and go as well so that's after a nights fasting in essence. What are peoples tried and tested methods for consuming energy during long runs?
I normally just take a couple of gel sachets out if I was running a half marathon but I think I would need around 7-8 maybe more for a marathon and I'm still not sure if it would be enough.
I'm going to gradually increase my carb intake before going out for a run.
Does anyone take anything else out with them on long runs?

My 30 miler the other week I used tailwind, when I do my marathon will generally use the drinks on the course along with a handful of skittles every two miles.
Just eat and rehydrate over the course of the day afterwards, obviously as we move into hotter weather I'll be more likely to take water out with me.
A gel after an hour and then every 20 minutes from then on. Also have EAAs in my water. I only bother for half marathon+What are peoples tried and tested methods for consuming energy during long runs?

Is anybody else really disappointed with Parkruns conduct during this lockdown? Threatening legal action against land owners who dont want events before June 21st, encouraging people to harass councils etc...
It seems like a good thing has been hijacked by people who dont get the values that made it great i the first place.
They may as well wait another couple of weeks to restart when restrictions are lifted?I don’t know why they’ve been so keen to go so early, they could’ve easily gone for end of June and not caused the bother for themselves.
