The mugginess is currently killing me whilst I'm out, when it's not this close I can manage 4-5 miles no problems but 3 miles tonight and I was broken, felt like I could barely breathe.

Less than £100
I would recommend the Garmin Forerunner 25 i have the Forerunner 235 and it is spot on for what i need it for, 2 links below both for the Forerunner 25. The Garmin one will give you all the features and spec, second one is from ebay which brings the cost to £89 if you prefer not to buy from eBay there are other websites which sell it for below £100.

Looks a bit smarter than the TomTom, how do you find it for calculating accuracy ? Does it download you your route and your times per km ran etc?

I find the Garmin spot on, GPS is awesome as far as research goes everywhere I have read most runners say that Garmin watches are the best for GPS and I agree. The watch syncs with the Garmin app and uploads your route and distance ran. Shows you all the stats as well you can also customise your watch face for it to show you all this while you are running if you want to check your pace at that moment in time. You can link it to your strava account as well which just syncs automatically once your watch has synced with the Garmin app.

Ridiculously warm this morning. I went out early and it was drizzling so stuck a light running jacket over my t shirt. Like a sauna and I am drenched. Typically it stopped raining as soon as I went out so didn't need the jacket anyway.

Every time I've worn one I've ended up soaked with sweat anyway as they become a sauna even in cool weather. If I'm going to get soaked with sweat anyway why bother?

short tempo run on the gym dreadmill.... awful

About the only thing I can get away with doing on the dreadmill is short intervals. Even a fairly short tempo run bores the life out of me.

Aye I'm looking forward to the autumn coming and cooler conditions!
