He’s been miles off Sunderland stuff since kld came in. Nowhere near our stuff. He was claiming we wouldn’t spend a penny last summer days before we spent a decent wedge (for the level) on Cirkin. He admittedly knew the score under the Donald regime. He’s just guessing these days.

:lol: They should have been in place last Tuesday at the latest. As it is we have Charlie on here defending why we don’t need a new manager yet, then in a few weeks wondering why nobody’s going to the game after our 5-0 defeat at Cheltenham.
 
@The Breen Machine Speakman came in with this project malarkey and for some reason a lot of fans thought he was gonna make a big difference. Younger players, loan players from bigger clubs etc but as it turns out that’s not what we need in this league or the league above, so the project is failed.
I pointed out from the start that he talks a lot and says nothing. He’s a bluffer. We do not need bluffers.
As has been pointed out it seems this project is out of the window and we are now signing as many owld players as we are young uns.
The selection of players brought in last month makes you wonder if we know what we want and/or what we are doing.
Where did that 6-0 come from ? And why did it come about ? I wasn’t there but heard we were second best everywhere and gave up. The players gave up that is unacceptable so let’s not forget, they must take some of the blame.
So, Speakmans choice of manager has failed, and his choice of players has failed. IMO he is on borrowed time and he now knows it.
It wouldn’t surprise me if he fecks up the Keane appointment, in truth, he’s fecked everything else up.
Before anyone accuses me of using him as the latest scapegoat, I’ve criticised him before and got pelters. He’s a bullshitter, I know cos so am I.

What’s taking so long is they’ve actually done a group stage of the interview and all the managers have to sell Lyndon gooch to speak man and kyril the reckon neil Lennon sang a cracking version of hotel California with Leigh Griffiths on guitar and it’s really put a spanner in the works maybe a Dinna
 
I really don't know what's going on here now. IMO whoever comes in now, its not about anything else but motivation. There are 16 games left, the players are not going to change, the only thing that can change is how the head coach/manager can motivate the squad to win enough games. It is not about backroom staff or anything else, it is about motivation now and although I was on the fence about his appointment earlier on, Roy Keane is the best disposed to do this.
Unless he is making stupid demands (and if he is publish these), get him in now. If this move fails then KLD, Speakman and the board will have nothing to reproach themselves for, But for Fuck sake do something.

if roy keane is as stupid about football as you imply above-we shouldnt hire him and he will never work in football again..do you think alex ferguson thought his onlyj role at man utd was winning games? winning games is step one..
 
Perhaps Speakman ground the data on Roy & decided he's the midfield enforcer & team captain we lack? Roy thought he was being interviewed for the head coach role so now he's in a quandary. A bit like Paul Newman who auditioned for the role of Sundance but was cast as Butch...curiouser & curiouser....
