I find it hard to believe that the club hierarchy are so incompetent to let this circus rock up at Cheltenham on Tuesday without a new manager in situ.

The whole point of sacking Johnson was supposed to be to signal that the playoffs weren’t enough. Leaving this appointment until after Saturday has already made the playoffs a high likelihood. Leaving it until after Tuesday would probably make the playoffs a certainty.

If this is the shambles that rolls in to town when you appoint a “Sporting Director”, give me a proper manager any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

Out of all the tweets they could have picked they chose two tweets one who didn’t want him and the other said they didn’t think it would work. Robbie Savage quite funny about the voicemail though and Sutton at the end baffled we didn’t have a manager lined up.

It's a real mystery. Hopefully one day we'll find out who our new manager is.

But until then it would be remiss of us not to fill the silence with wild speculation and red hot anger. It's our job, as fans.
Correct -it’s as if people cared

The day I believe what a journalist writes is the day I believe what comes out of Boris Johnso…………….oh forget it.

They arn’t mate, unless we get lucky in the play offs

Keane might JUST get us through it but its a big ask as we’re just not any better than about 10 teams

Club have had the opportunity to appoint him so can only presume its about money which is a f***ing shambles
Let's be honest nobody knows if Keane is getting the job or not. Just guessing about money being a issue

Jesus that’s a sensible scenario marra -I’m out though prefer the hysteria

It’s a sensible scenario but omits some other key details of Speakman’s interview!

Nearly all journalistic sources are reporting stages of interviews, shortlists of candidates and a long process. Our director of football basically confirmed that was the process yesterday.

I really want to believe that’s quite a way down the line and something is imminent. Not just for the sake of sanity but for the sake of the side. We cannot go into the Cheltenham game being managed by the temporary youth coaches. If we lose that our play off place looks in doubt let alone any dwindling aspirations of top two

What if Keane was here on Friday, was interviewed and listened to what we had to say about how the club saw his role with us and was offered the job.

Maybe he decided he needed the weekend to think about it and to speak to the tv companies to see if they would still let him carry on his side hussle. Speakman then says in his interview with Frankie that we’re still going through the process just to buy some time while Roy thinks it over.

Thats a possible scenario is it not?
It’s as plausible as others I’ve read on here.

Speakman saying the process is ongoing. Journalists saying we’re about to start second interviews and lads on here saying it’s a done deal.

I’d love to believe it was sorted but if it isn’t announced tomorrow it simply can’t be.

Why on earth would it suit anyone to delay the announcement if it’s sorted.

Keane could have been up here by 6pm today if it was agreed or at the latest tomorrow.

No announcement tomorrow and it looks very much like Speakman and the journalists aren’t spinning a line but saying it as it is.

If you offered me ‘play offs are a certainty’ right now, I’d bite your hand off
