Got us up by flukeWhat a cabbage, the guy is right, I can't understand why many on here exercise their hands on wanting Keane back, he was about to take us down, did bollox at Ipswich and there's a reason nobody has took a punt on him except as an assistant since, yes he got us up by some fluke and he talks a great game as did LJ but talk doesn't get us promoted. If he's appointed I will get behind him and the team, but I really believe folk here will be calling for his head by end of season or early next should we get promoted.
Agreed.I hope the first thing he does is batter Keith Downie
aye he's definitely being interviewed. no way all the press report it like they have unless it was true.100% interviewed or will be in next 24 hours
Why else would he be in the North East
TBH I think he'd struggle tactically against klopp or pep. Maybe we should go for the bloke who's just been sackedcby hull instead.I see this sort of post a lot. Of course it‘s correct, but has the game of football changed that much that it’s an issue?
What exactly do people think has changed so much that somebody who played at the very highest level, and is still heavily involved in watching, can’t cope with? Is it really a barrier to coaching for somebody like Keane? Is it not still a pretty simple game at it’s core?
AgreedI hope the first thing he does is punch Keith Downie
Keith Downie dislikes this post.Bring in Keano and we are back on the football map instantly
I think the amount of data behind the sport has grown hugely, but the game itself is still the same sport.I think it has changed absolutely massively in terms of data, science, social media, and player welfare. If he was exactly how he was last time he was here he is doomed to fail imo. But it's not like he has been out of football completely. He's working for Sky up close and personal with the very top managers in the game. If he's been clever he'll of been taking notes from how the likes of Pep and Klopp do it and see how he can translate their ways of working into his own styles. He's also been assistant managers elsewhere and as someone said he's been away and trained with the likes of the All Blacks to learn stuff.
My thoughts tooI’m not against it. I’d welcome him back and think there is a chance he would do the job at hand. But to be completely honest I’m not sure he still has what made him succeed first time around,
ThisDefinitely not for me, it would be an appointment from the heart and not from the head. He has no recent managerial experience and isn't necessarily one for tactics, which in the modern game is only going to get you so far.
There might be a short term bounce but would end up with some sort of falling out and his departure before too long. I just can't see it being a sensible appointment for the longer term foundations of the club which is why I don't think it will happen.
Of course he is the choice of many supporters, but that is based on emotion rather than any rational consideration of the longer-term. It is a definite no from me and I would much prefer we looked abroad for some new ideas rather than the run of the mill British and Irish candidates.
Probs his job to lose id sayaye he's definitely being interviewed. no way all the press report it like they have unless it was true.
Got us up by fluke
I’ve read some crap on here but that’s the best![]()
