Hope the lad can have a Quinn style post-injury-nightmare renaissance but his game is very different to Quinny who didn’t rely on his pace.
Fair play to him for holding out for the best contract he could possibly get. Clear at the time it was probably his last chance at a big pay day, and he may be relying on it for his future.
Maybe needs to do what Kenwyne did after his injury (and Michael Owen to a degree) here and bulk up a touch to protect things and adjust his game, playing more with his back to goal as a target man as I think hes clever enough to do that. Though obviously that's not going to be at the top level.
At 28 and his size and frame he's not going to be running in behind or into the channels much anyway.
Thank god we never got him to sign that new deal here.
Sad to say, but I think he’s career is finished. I wouldn’t be shocked if he’s contract was fully paid up at the end of the season like
Why would he accept that? He's got years to run and he'll want to get fit - its a two way thing and he'll no doubt want to continue as anyone would.
Absolutely no chance.
