Ross Stewart

There's no chance they would have bought Stewart for £10m if they didn't think he could make the step up to the EPL. It would be incredibly poor business for them if they just immediately loaned him out upon getting there.
I can see them loaning him out to prove his fitness.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if Ross Stewart steps up and makes the grade in the top-flight. 👍

They’ll have thought he was going to play the majority of this season for them. Speakman said he was going to miss the majority of pre-season but expected to be making the bench after the first 3/4 games.

The stepping stone of this year has disappeared. Despite anyone’s views on whether he’s good enough or not, he needs to completely overcome the bad injury he’s had, get back to the form he showed for a small championship period then make the step up beyond that.

It’s a big ask & I’d you’ve got to think Southampton will have reviewed their expectations for him since signing him last summer.

Why not? weve done far dafrlter things
Like Burstow, Hemir, Tore Andre Flo, Dave Buchanon, Marangoni
...the list iums endless

Why would they not utilise their big signing from last summer?

He’ll be starting for them.

Can’t see him getting a chance there next season. I think a loan would be on the cards for him to prove his fitness
