Ross Stewart

He won't be loaned out until at least January. They paid too much for him not to be given a chance at the start of the season. Ross is the type of striker who will score anywhere, he's the full package. Tall, strong, quick, natural finish, good positioning, scores with feet and head.

I just have a feeling Southampton and Ross Stewart isn’t going to be something that works out. I predict a loan move in January after he has not had the minutes required. I hope he does get to prove himself as he comes across as a solid lad to be fair to him and while here he gave 100% every time he pulled on our short. Good luck to the lad.

He did very well for us but personally I think it would have been better for him if Southampton had stayed in the Championship. Scored well in L1, got a few goals and some penalties in the Champo and two very serious non-contact injuries. Has since had another one at Southampton without even playing a full game.

Best of luck to him but I can’t see him staying fit or scoring goals in the Prem.

while his career trajectory to indicates he is a late bloomer and so has improvement to come..he is 28 in a few minutes and players rarely get much better after that age..and he needs to get better given the jimp in standard he is faced with..but yes its true he has a lot of atreibutes..

A lot of what

How do you think Ross will get on in the Premier League?

I recall Rodney Marsh once saying SKP would not score 5 goals before he went in to score 30.

I am of the same opinion of Ross. Good luck to him and I hope he is over his injuries but I can’t see him scoring many against Premier League defences.

He'll score 6 in the first 5 games then be injured unfortunately

If he’s fit I reckon into double figures. He knows where the goal is but the defenders will obviously be a lot better

I think he will do alright, but not set the world alight. Maybe 10 goals. Some off the bench. That is if he plays at all. It also wouldn’t surprise me if he doesn’t come back from injury and has recurrence.

I think we have seen the best of him. It's a big step up, then there's the possible impact of the injuries and he'll be playing in a struggling team.

I hope he does well at Southampton though, good luck to the lad. The most important thing was the lad is now financially secure and Sunderland got a good fee.

I don't think he'll feature much at all for them.

They'll be looking at better more reliable players now they're promoted.
its a curious position they are in...armstrong was excellent for them in the championship but never done it in the prem..
Stewart is an excellent championship striker it seems but never done it in the prem and had a big injury..
Che Adams is never prolific but is a work horse and seems to be leaving for a prem club..
