he may have worked with speakman at brum like..And Speakman.
I really don't think that is trueGot labelled shite on here in his early days at Sunderland.
Wouldn't blame the agent at all mind. Stewart will have been on buttons at Ross County. Wouldn't exactly have been creaming it in when signing for us in league one, even with a promotion rise. Both he and his agent will have known that, at his age, this was going to be his first, and probably only, big deal. By all accounts we weren't prepared to go anywhere near what he could get elsewhere. He was brilliant for us, pity his agent held us to ransom for 12 months. Left a very bitter taste in a lot of fans mouths. He's been injured 18 month and he's 29?
anyhoo fantastic players for us, why did KS get so shit at signing players when he did so well in the 1st 12 months
100% this. Good deal for all involved. We simply couldn’t match what Southampton could offer (be interested to know how high we went, if indeed we even tried!).Wouldn't blame the agent at all mind. I suppose it's understandable in a way, in that parachute (and high player sale revenue) Southampton would be able to outbid most at this level, and if we really smashed the structure for him it would get others, rightly or wrongly, wanting a rise or being pissed off. But it was known for a long time that he was going to take the chance to set himself and his family up for life, and we ended up getting a very good fee for him. Don't think any party did anything wrong tbh (at least not until we subsequently failed to replace him, never mind using the money to improve the side elsewhere)
Your right and it was obvious from his very first minutes for us he was gunna be excellent. Remember thinking I’d never seen a Sunderland striker put such a shift inGot labelled shite on here in his early days at Sunderland.
‘Lanky Jock’I really don't think that is true
There's no way on earth Southampton are going to let someone they spent £10m on and who has played about 20 minutes, leave on loan next season if they get promoted.
Even for the optics of it alone in their fans eyes, Southampton wouldn't do it.
Was noticeably better than Wyke even pretty early on in his time here.Got labelled shite on here in his early days at Sunderland.
They will definitely want him for their squad.I wonder if Southampton go up if theyd want to send RS out on loan.
Sounds daft considering the money they spunked on him but then hes hardly kicked a ball in the last 2 years, would be difficult for him to get back up to speed in the Prem.
Would be ironic if we loaned him for half a season and paid his wages!
I hope he gets thereWas noticeably better than Wyke even pretty early on in his time here.
If he'd stayed fit last season he'd be in the PL now, maybe even with us.

Want to explain why we didn’t sell Clarke last summer then?Let’s be honest to club were dying to sell him. As soon as there was profit to be made they were rubbing their hands injured or not. Same with clarke. If Sunderland were serious about keeping clarke, especially with the sell on clause in his contract we would set a ridiculously high asking price to try and frighten clubs off. We are almost broadcasting our asking price. Amateur by the club
Assume they won promotion? How much extra we getting for the lanky Jock then?
