I've just ordered a 1.2 hard grad like....
Didn't realise you could get them, is it Lee
I had a 0.9 and a 0.6 ND hard grad filters. I tried a few shots with various filters and this seemed to be the best combination.
I like this one too orosso (the full version as posted), but the foreground in ken's gives it a slight edge, it sort of leads your eye into the picture a little more.I stitched a 4:1 panoramic:

Edit: the way the board does fading has a nice effect on yours!
. In hindsight i should have shot and stitched in portrait view.
You could have taken the Ayesane scattergun approach where you point the camera and random places at random angles and then hope they will all stitch together afterwards
Portrait view would have probably worked quite well though, like you say as it would have grabbed a lot more foreground.
It was the colour/contrast I was commenting on BTW, not the composition of the 2 shots
You could always get yourself an 8mm like mine.
Aye a touch heavy on the grad like (ken)

Good luck. It's dry here but the lights a bit flat. Heading over to Durham in the morning about 7am to try and get some shots of the cathedral from the river banks. Been done a million times but a first for me.
