What he said was wrong but the actions of the ECB are just a tick box exercise to avoid a potential backlash of those who are either a) offended b) pretending to be offended.

IMO he should have been fined his match fee and sent on a diversity / training course, punishing him now, after the game, by banning him from representing his country at what he's good at (and worked incredibly hard at, to get to) seems both pointless and harsh.

I find it quite odd how the 'tweets' have been displayed on his page for years and years and people will have evidently seen them (not suggesting the ECB but certainly others), to then be dug up and displayed to hang him out to dry.

Sad all round really.
 
I think a one game suspension is fine and use the time just to send him on some diversity and inclusion course as someone said and obviously just make sure aswell he doesn’t have any other skeletons about to come out his closet.

Don’t see the issue with a one match ban personally but definitely think this indefinite ban is owa the top like

Surely in this current climate and modern world, nobody expected them to say.

Even if they believe that, as a ruling body they have to be seen to do something about it.

Plenty examples, read back through social media and the news from the day it broke

sky sports news absolutely obsessed with it.

they seem gutted the government are criticising the ecb
