Seems to reasonable to me. Having his name dragged through the mud is a bigger punishment. Nobody is suggesting that he still hold those views now so why punish him more?

If there’s one thing public schools instills in its students it’s unshakeable self confidence and the ability to detach. They seem to go with a ‘if you post or say stupidly offensive things remember it doesn’t matter because you’re from public school’ rather than ‘don’t post stupidly offensive things’ mantra.

He’s a very good bowler though and clearly has the self belief to mix it in Test cricket. Could hear him shouting ‘Virat, Virat’ at Kohli yesterday despite barely playing a test. Certainly doesn’t suffer from imposter syndrome.
