RLB will be gone before next season

he won’t at all he’s done an absolutely cracking job, end of the day even if he put a rocket up them yesterday some of the fringe lads didn’t fancy it and it was clear for all to see which will lead to a canny few being shown the door in the summer

this next level you’re speaking about we’re at a completely acceptable level now 9th-14th place and I’m quite happy about it, keeps us ticking over where we can build on over time unlike in previous prem seasons where we splashed a load of cash on nowt and suffered. this is a project and atm they’re doin a blinding job in the league but let’s not kid ourselves we’re no city, Liverpool or arsenal let’s keep in our lane for a bit eh

can we also get past this ‘luck’ bollocks, some teams take their chances on the day and some don’t, we’ve played extremely well and exceeded expectations this season but yesterday we didn’t deserve to progress
That common sense is wasted on loads on here mate

If we are being honest it’s Ghosolfi who has elevated this club to its position of breaking the mould when it comes to promoted clubs staying up. Signings like Xhaka, Brobbey, Alderete, Mukiele …. We’re beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, I do think the owner would trust his judgement.

I’m still firmly in support of the manager but I now envisage a Sunderland post-RLB which I never have before.
Of course there will be a post RLB period sooner rather than later.
Football managers simply don't hang around for all sorts of reasons. The days of managers being in a job for 10-20 years are never going to be seen again.

Some of the posts on here are beyond embarrassing and if coming from Mags would be pounced on by the same people on here calling for RLB to be given the sack

Talks in riddles about connections
dynamics and experiences reminiscent of Cantona and the seagulls

Any manager worth his salt would have put a rocket up them at half time but we have been papering over the cracks for a long time.

Lets face it we got lucky in the play offs, lucky at Wembley and Xhaka has been acting as de,-facto manager on and off the pitch.

Without him we are rudderless and will probably splutter our way to safety.

Ghisolfi brought in a number of quality players who dont need a great deal of " management" and yet RLB still insists on Hume in the hybrid role.

KLD has to much invested to fail and Ghisolfi will be working on a manager to take us to the next level.

Nice guy but he has to go in the name of progress.
🙄 bore off. All because of we lose to Port Vale.
If you sacked him, we'll go down next season.
Thank god you arent the owner.
Play off games aint lucky, jesus christ, get over it mate. We were clinical.

We are a team built on being compact and incredibly hard to break down, and to facilitate this we play with only 1 up front and don't flood the final third with players to support Brobbey, so we don't create that many chances compared to other teams.

That's the price we pay for how we're set up, it's entirely predicated on extracting points from effectively a new team with very little experience of this league.

RLB has done a pretty bloody great job of managing this progress and getting us the points we needed.

He and the board will be more than aware that we need to develop as a team to keep progressing in the seasons ahead, and based on the transfer dealings since Le Fee arrived and our progress so far I'd say that they're more than aware of what's required.

To call for his head after one (admittedly terrible) result isn't in any way rational, if RLB gets the bullet then it won't be because of yesterday, it'll be because of an accumulation of things behind the scenes.

We still have 27 points to play for - and it's our first season since promotion!

There’s a reason RLB likes Hume in his team and you could see it yesterday by his absence
That old we were lucky shite. Bore off. I suppose we've been lucky the 19 games we've got points this season as well?
Agree. And also you make your own luck

Unfortunately some people on here can never accept when a manager needs changing. Seen it with Jack Ross, Mowbray etc. If we want to progress as a football club we need to move on from RLB. He has done a great job, but has now taken us as far as he can. That’s not a criticism either.

I think so too. If we were seeing this in our second or third season on the prem then yes I’d start asking questions but seeing as this is our first proper season back in the prem I think RLB is the best manager we could have
At the end of the day, overall it’s looking like we couldn’t have asked anymore of him. Got us up last season by not spending that much in comparison to others. League wise this season has gone better than any of us imagined.
