RLB will be gone before next season

Talks in riddles about connections
dynamics and experiences reminiscent of Cantona and the seagulls

Any manager worth his salt would have put a rocket up them at half time but we have been papering over the cracks for a long time.

Lets face it we got lucky in the play offs, lucky at Wembley and Xhaka has been acting as de,-facto manager on and off the pitch.

Without him we are rudderless and will probably splutter our way to safety.

Ghisolfi brought in a number of quality players who dont need a great deal of " management" and yet RLB still insists on Hume in the hybrid role.

KLD has to much invested to fail and Ghisolfi will be working on a manager to take us to the next level.

Nice guy but he has to go in the name of progress.
In contention for the worst post of the season this 👆

I think you make a good point about an assistant. I don't know the situation but when he was thinking about the tactics against a scrappy L1 outfit someone should have explained that lobbing the ball up to Mayenda was never going to work. That is the style of play they come up to every week. He got it badly wrong yesterday.
He needs someone to bounce off mate imo. He looks a bit alone since Vulcano went.

Everyone is replaceable including the manager depending on performances ..

But this year he's done exceptionally well and isn't anywhere near bei.g planned for replacing.

If yesterday tells us anything it's that Rigg, Isidor, Geertruida, Talbi & Mayenda won't be playing much of a part next season.. either through sales or loans

Harsh from the OP. RLB has prioritised (mostly) being a bastard to get much out of defensively and we have largely been great on that front.

Now is the time to start being a bit more risk orientated in our patterns of play so that we can be a threat as well as being an organised defensive unit that won't lose many and might pick up a win if the chances/luck fall in our favour.

If he can't do that by fairly early doors next season after some additional squad strengthening he will be a good bet for first manager to get the chop next season though.

Only way he will leave is if we find someone better coinciding with a run of defeats .

Avoid defeat at the scum and I reckon he is safe

Went well
"Hope I'm wrong, but.... I'm setting my stall out early with an extremely negative punt. I will keep returning to it at every bump in the road.
Being proven right on the Internet is far more important than the fortunes of SAFC and reserve the right to persevere with this...."

.... or something.

We’ve seen how ruthless the club can be when they binned off our promotion winning captain and number 1 goalkeeper, then Speakman got peddled. If KLD has Ghisolfi in his ear about a new manager that could take us to the next step with a more attacking brand of football I wouldn’t be surprised to see RLB go in the summer. We just don’t know what KLD is thinking. Anything could happen.

Shut up thick heed

Reading the forum this week has been astonishing. We've just hit 40 points away from home and secured our spot in the league. After years of failure. We are 4 points from European places. We have 7 players out injured. RLB has pulled a squad together from 15 new signings that has done us proud.

Is it perfect? No. But cretins like the OP have short memories and no loyalty

The tone on the board is becoming mag-esque. Get some perspective.

It’s absolutely embarrassing our fanbase at times
Same people spouting this rubbish will belittle the mags for questioning Howe I bet and call them deluded
40 points by March as newly promoted side and we’re wanting the manager gone, staggering
Yes we have been pragmatic and it’s not always easy on the eye etc but it’s been necessary, effective in achieving short term goal of staying up
Wonder if the much praised Leeds would swap with our position or Burnley?
He’s took a team from 16th in championship to mid table in premier league in two years, that’s a phenomenal achievement is it not
As we go in time and we hopefully invest in better quality etc we will improve in the attacking sense but surely he deserves opportunity to build on what he’s started

Purely down to the players.. the wingers have not been great...and Brobby is the only striker up to the standards so far

We strengthened very well across the defence including the goalkeeper.. Roefs, Mukiele, Reinildo & Alderete were unbelievable acquisitions.

Centre midfield was strengthened a lot.. Xhaka, Sadiki & Diarra all great additions

The attacking players are clearly where the upgrades have to happen...
Adringa has already been let go..
Talbi is one for the future and might need a loan..
Traore bought for 2.5m in final day of window..injury prone and not the long term plan

They tried upgrading these positions in Jan but not many options and surely will be the main focus next year

Brobbey good but no back up for this level and he gets no service

This Spanish guy who looks at our opponents is culpable, wonder if he just watched Bristol city and PV in the last couple days, seems like it

If we are being honest it’s Ghosolfi who has elevated this club to its position of breaking the mould when it comes to promoted clubs staying up. Signings like Xhaka, Brobbey, Alderete, Mukiele …. We’re beyond anyone’s wildest dreams, I do think the owner would trust his judgement.

I’m still firmly in support of the manager but I now envisage a Sunderland post-RLB which I never have before.
