It doesn’t give an account of those respondents who didn’t feel able to reveal their sexual orientation in the survey. The true figure could be significantly higher.

Which would obviously be a wrong assumption as the numbers simply wouldn't stack up.

The perhaps ugly truth of it is, that the age old stereotypes whereby gay women are more interested in football, and gay men less so, probably does still hold true.

To be honest, unless it's one of the very few high profile ones, I'm usually amazed people even take notice of who the ref is week in week out.

I feel that part of the issue is the whole 'coming out' nonsense.

I didn't sit there one day and tell my parents I wanted to fuck lasses, I just got a girlfriend and that was that.

If my lad in the future happens to be gay, I hope he just feels comfortable enough to bring his partner home without any grand reveal ceremony. The pressure of this adds to the stigma of it.

It just shouldn't be a thing.

I'm not sure they do though. It doesn't bother me in the slightest and couldn't give a monkeys chuff tbh. The headlines are saying the word "Coming out" . Just do what you want. Not sure you have to go to the press to say but if he thinks he can help others, it's his shout. I don't think anyone will be shocked tbh

But why is it allowed to stand and why must it be challenged? It's clearly nonsense and defamatory.

Because the club I support, has an awful owner, I'm now an abbhorent person with shit morals ? That's absurd.

Where do we draw the lines with these types of challenges because I guarantee if I called him something it would be removed.

1- You will be putting money into the pockets of that regime when buying a ticket at Sid James park, therefor supporting that regime and everything it stands for.

2- At no point did I say that you personally are against homosexuals ( unless that was your conscience you heard).

Some people would say that accusing me of that could be slanderous.

You have literally no idea whether I'm doing number 1 or not though. You jumped in with both feet on some character assassination attempt and derailed the thread. It was pathetic, secondary only to the modding (which is normally very decent and very fair) allowing it.
