@Swindon On Tour remember when there was a massive rumour they were buying you with a press conference arranged only for you to announce Tim Sherwood?

As if we can afford to buy Red Bull. Not the Red Bull shite again.
Don't tell me a Red Bull delivery van has been seen outside the SoL
I would prefer no name change but if meant seeing a successful SAFC before I die I could live with it.I do want significant investment, but the team name would be off limits for me.
They probably know it wouldn't be that easy in England anyway so possibly just look at the Stadium Name, Shirt Sponsor etc.
That's because we've got a big ground. If City had a 70k seat stadium they'd have 20 thousand empty seats...I think you're overestimating what other fans think of us as a club. They don't look at the 30k plus fans they look at the 18k empty seats.
Areet Patrick?Make it so.
From laughing stock to fizzy popWe're a laughing stock
Shame its not Viagra getting involvedFrom laughing stock to fizzy pop
Anyone from RB marketing dept you can have that for nowt
Well if they just consume football via Sky then they're not an average fan, are they? You think, you ask people in their 20/30s now what they think of Sunderland.
What do you think the average Birmingham fan thinks of Sunderland. Sky has been around for nearly 30 years now, I'd say most football fans now have been brought up on sky.
I would prefer no name change but if meant seeing a successful SAFC before I die I could live with it.
Just the world we live in these days...I remeber when logos went on shirts in the 1980s nobody wanted it but it has become accepted these days.
If it did happen it wouldnt be ideal but everyone will still call us Sunderland...I want to worry about getting tickets for the champions league game not a name.
This bit is correct but at the moment we are a 3 division side. Anderlecht, Feyenoord, Celtic are massive clubs. But in the Champions League era they are small fry. Our identity has been damage since we got relegated because we are now a League One club not one of the biggest in England anymore.Well if they just consume football via Sky then they're not an average fan, are they?
Sunderland are one of the biggest clubs in the country, they sit just outside the top ten of the most successful clubs in England.
If someone who watches Sky only chooses to ignore that and instead focus on empty seats, then their f***ing divvy opinion is irrelevant.
I understand the reasoning, however it doesn't change the fact that other fans criticise us for having empty seats. That's because we've got a big ground. If City had a 70k seat stadium they'd have 20 thousand empty seats...
Of course it has. You don't just stop being a well supported club with a long tradition because of a relegation or two.I can remember when we moved from Roker Park to the SoL. All the times we planned to move fans objected to it as 'our heart and soul' belongs in Roker and 'the club wouldn't be the same'. It was the same with the crest. 20 odd years on we are still the same club. Even now we here grumblings about the kits having a plan back and wearing red shorts. People seem to forget that we were once 'The Team of Many Talents' - 'The Bank of England Club' and one of the biggest clubs in Britain, bigger than Liverpool and Man Utd. Now we are a struggling League One club! During the 60's we change our shorts to white and had 4 different crest. It seems that the people complaining about the club becoming a franchise are the ones holding onto to materially things.

And hopefully Red Bull can be our rich Arab man.Of course it has. You don't just stop being a well supported club with a long tradition because of a relegation or two.
Man City were in the third tier twenty years ago, look at them now.
Who exactly? We're a genuine club with no "tourist" fans, there's not many orher clubs could average 30k in the third division- and I include City in that bracket.I understand the reasoning, however it doesn't change the fact that other fans criticise us for having empty seats.

A red bull van pulled up outside can today- 3 suits got out and some oriental woman who took selfies outside that statue of peasants holding a globe
So you never heard other fans have ago about our empty seats? The leaving early is mentioned a lot too.Who exactly? We're a genuine club with no "tourist" fans, there's not many orher clubs could average 30k in the third division- and I include City in that bracket.
Red Bull East Stand coming soon I reckon...
Can you not remember all the Irish lads coming over to support us during the Drumaville days?Who exactly? We're a genuine club with no "tourist" fans
