All these ‘passionate fans’ and supporters groups have seriously messed up. Real fans would stay loyal during the tough times and would back those trying to turn things around. Self centred childish tantrums ‘we deserve better’ etc. This isn’t passion it’s impatience and selfish anger.

This exact behaviour has got the mags nowhere and has probably reduced the owners desire to do the right thing and reduced the attractiveness of the club to new owners. You will not protest your way to a better future - you will very likely protest your way to a change for the worse though.

absolutely oblivious to what’s happening at this club.

Arranging a deal with Ellis Short to clear 130 million debt to prevent us from complete bankruptcy
Getting rid of mercenaries who were bleeding the club dry, Rodwell, Pappy NDong, Kone
Making 3m available for a striker on the back of 2 relegations whilst on division one income
Removing the god awful pink seats and giving us a decent stadium back
Ensuring we still have a club unlike Bury and no 12 points deductions like Bolton.
Attempting to bring in outside investment after admitting on a number of occasions that didn't have the resources to get us where we want to be.
Reducing losses significantly from the 25000 a week we were losing upon takeover to a point where wages are now manageable

Apart from the above he's done sod all.
Short would have written off the debt for whoever bought the club because he’d never have been able to sell the club any other way.

Getting rid of mercenaries by paying them off.

Removing the pink seats and replacing them by spending the cost of a few burgers to get the fans to do it for fuck all.

Ensuring we still have a club - he had literally nothing to do with that - Short wrote his debt off and Donald used the parachute payments to repay the bank debt. He spent nothing of his own money on it.

He originally said he had the finances in place to get us well inside the championship and even potentially the premier league. Now he’s selling up because he can’t run us and we’re in a worse league position than when he started.

There’s no way of knowing if the losses are now manageable until the accounts for his first full year are released.

And as for the £3 million on Grigg - the only reason we had to resort to spending that money (which it’s becoming clearer by the day we didn’t have) is because he allowed our top goal scorer to leave to repay a debt to another club. We were linked with virtually every striker going including the likes of Ched Evans. The only reason we spent £3 million is because Donald is such a good negotiator that he spent more than 4 times his original offer for a player who now barely even gets game time from the bench.

Not like you to over exaggerate everything he says , Mr negative

Why wouldn’t he stick with Ross !! He missed out on promotion just, transfer plans we hampered a bit with all takeover stuff that was going on but he did back him in the window we still spent money, and despite what some on here think free transfers aren’t free.

Why not? Did you overlook how badly we were playing in the second half of the season and how utterly inept we were going forward? Not to mention losing in two finals at Wembley. The Charlton defeat was disgusting, the players never showed up, they looked unmotivated and quite frankly lost. Charlton were no great shakes and we were gifted the opening goal.

Short was happy to sell the debt along with the club, Donald didn't take the offered IOU off Shorts hands and then decide to asset strip instead he wiped the debt clean from the slate. An unscrupulous business person which there are many of could have cashed in on £100 mil debt and left us without a club. You're one of the smarter posters om here and I'm sure you can see this.

You’re confusing the bank debt and the debt owed to Short himself.

Short was owed £130-150 million. There’s no way he’d have gotten that back whatsoever and the only way he’d have gotten anything would have been to put the club into administration. As it is he would have written his debt off regardless of who came in because there’s no way anybody would have bought it with that amount outstanding.

The debt owed to SBC was £25 million. Short offered Donald that debt to use against income and his initial statements were that they’d refused that because they wanted the club debt free. Turned out they’d used the club’s parachute payments to pay that debt off instead.

Donald is absolutely useless as an owner. Pretty much none of football decisions made during his tenure have had a positive effect on the club. He’s presided over crass stupidity, naivety, incompetence and ultimately failure. Anyone who can’t see the truth by now is either a shill or Stewart himself.

Short was moving back to the US. Starting up in business again or not a bounced debt of £25m to a US bank would be embarrassing for him both personally and businessally (I think I’ve invented a word). £25m was always the lowest he’d go and only if that was guaranteed to go to sbc, unfortunately the only guaranteed money coming into safc was the parachute payments. The rest he’d realised he was gonna have to take on the chin. Fair play to him anarl.

To the heads of the above groups who have driven Stu to leave the club, and have through their statement put the word out to the 3 prospective buyers of our once great club, that if it's not going their way, they will get all the fans to mount protests and kick you out.
So any groups or individual looking at us as a club to buy, well I am sure they will be thinking FUCK that for an investment.
The social media used by the above groups has a world wide platform and as the investors will be seeing the hate speak coming from the said groups, I am sure they will see the damage they have done.
Instead of discussing it with SD they put out a statement for the world to see, and make us a laughing stock.
Now loads of you who think I talk shite, well lets see what happens when we have no investment funds to work with as Stu pays it back to the Yanks ON FRIDAY this week and we have no one to buy/ fund new players who were lined up to come in next week.
So well done the groups above HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
You so called righteous supporters have fucked us right over OH and PS that's not shite that is the truth.
Absolutely correct, SD is going to have no interest in the club anymore, so we will now continue the demise until a buyer is found, if one can be found, and all those who have forced his hand may live to regret what they have done.
People need to realise we are not in the top flight and do not have a billionair owner, and it is going to be a long haul back to the top, and it's not going to happen overnight, SD might well sell the to someone worse in respect of finance and interest in moving the club forward just to get rid of it, so they should be careful what they wish for.
Acting like spoiled brats you could be forgiven for thinking they were mag's, and screaming because they can't get their own way could well backfire on the club in a bad way, but I have no doubt they'll think they are right in what they've done.
And as I have said before, we are in league 1, with a league 1 manager, and league 1 players, but give people a chance to improve things, PP seems to be getting somewhere and we have improved over the last few games, and had it not been for the fans impatience things might well have improved a lot quicker.

Are you calling him a liar now? He said it won’t affect January, also once again it’s the fans fault, f***ing laughable and unbelievable in equal measures

God this is such rubbish man

Charlton were in turmoil behind the scenes over ownership last season, but Bowyer focussed on the job in hand and we know what happened. Hopefully Parkinson can do similar.

Agree, though Charlton also had more players capable than we have now as well. The difference is we desperately need to slightly reshape the squad and when we needed to do that during the summer and all focus was on the sale to the Campbell guy everything seemed to stop as even the manager was talking to them about targets. Hopefully Donald has learnt from it and he understands if he allows off the pitch things to interfere in on the pitch issues and transfers aren't done it'll only hurt his pocket further.

To be honest I just think the timing of the whole thing is bad as it raises more negativity and raises more problems which could have been left until we actually had failed this season, not in what is now the most important part. It didn't need to happen a week before the transfer window.

Ah right, my mistake.

Go along to the next meeting mate.
I don't know much about them but they want to be representative of the supporters, and the greater the number of members the more diverse opinions they'll hear and the more representative they'll be.

Managers have bad spells, that doesn’t mean you have to sack them all the time. Didn’t agree with the current manager but the chairman has stuck to his guns and looks like he might turn it around
Well they are free but we have to pay them. Like any other f***ing club does
You don’t just have to pay them, you have to pay a higher agents fee aswell

As do any club that signs players on a free. You try and make it sound like we are different

What are you reading? Never said we were different, it’s simple really I’m pointing out that people just whinge in that we signed a few freebies because they are out of contract, they aren’t they cost a lot even though there is no transfer fee
