Sure I've seen comments from the mags on here that it's the sporting director signing them.

Mind, it'll be the sporting director if they're shit and Rafa if they're good regardless.

Ah yes, the great sporting director we don't have. As you were.

So has he gone yet?
Was walking the dog along Wearmouth Bridge when I heard a reet old commotion.
A mag fan was standing on the bridge parapet shouting " the end is nigh, Rafa the gaffa is gannin, I'm gonna jump, life's not worth living without rafa".
"How man, ya great daft, fat, ugly, gravy stained, delusional, post 92 mag wanker (think I covered everything there pls feel free to add if necessary), aren't you taking things a bit too far, it's only a game after all".
"Naaaah man, ya divvent understand, he's the greatest, world class - us is fkd withoot Rafa the gaffa" he replied.
Getting bored with his crap patter, I said "anyhow, yer a dorty Mag, why are you doing the deed here, can't you use your own fking bridge?"
"Don't be a f***ing ideeyat, he replied, have ya seen the bastad queue?"

But not his first choices.

Very few managers have the luxury of getting all of their first choices. He's still laid out £95m on players since last summer.

I'm aware that's not net spend, but you should still have a stronger squad for the money lashed out

That's Mags being ignorant, they might not be his first choice signings but there's no way he'd be letting someone else sign players that he didn't agree with, that was one of the main points in him staying on this season that he had say on transfers, if he didn't then he would have walked weeks ago.

Mags won't want to hear that tho will they

Widely reported since he agreed to stay last summer that this was the case. In interviews by Benitez himself and various other media outlets. It's common knowledge.

Rafa has now spent £95m since last summer and it still isn't enough

To be fair some of the football oracles on here were saying we were so bad we'd need to spend between £100- £150m to stay up after promotion. So £95m falls some way short of the requirement.
