Saw this post from a Mag on the Chronicle site, spot on for me:
'I think the red card masked a lot of glaring issues .. I've talked about how Shelvey gets frustrated at this level because of his lack of pace and not getting time on the ball to ping his passes about .. I said we should have sold him as soon as we were promoted and his stock was as high as it's ever going to be .. but I was called a Mackem and told I had no idea about football!! .. I also said Gayle can't lead a line at this level, that the balk would just keep on being turned over, possession given away and we would be on the back foot ... that was blatantly obvious on Sunday .. he ran around like a crisp packet on the wind BUT the ball didn't stick! ... you can't win games consistently if you don't control possession and you control possession by winning the midfield, you can't win midfield if the ball is going forward to the striker and just coming straight back .. that's just basics .. I can't see Gayle being in the team .. he could only play off a centre forward .. which Raffa won't accomodate.. long season'

That's one of the best things I've seen you post on here .... and you didn't even have to write it ;)
