RAWA Questions For The Club/Owners

For a start:

Who is responsible for bringing players into the team? Have we been buying to what the manager wants or is it purely a scouting decision?

What attributes does Parkinson have that the other candidates didn't? Also why was he given a 2 and a half year deal when he has failed in the past once he gets to championship level?

Why were targets set of 100 points despite weakening the squad from last year where we achieved 85?

Why was Reece James sold which left us scrambling round for any left back that was available on deadline day?

How much truth is there in the comments from Ross regarding the nature of his sacking i.e. leaking the story early before he had the chance to tell his family?

On what basis is Richard Hill head of football operations and do you think he has been successful in his role thus far?

Is there a plan in place to improve the performances of the under 21s and under 18s?

Cup tickets are currently on sale for the Gillingham cup tie, however the club starts selling blocks in the East Stand first.
I attend the game with my brother who has some mobility problems, we don’t use a wheelchair but have our seats in the front row of the upper bowl thus providing him with the minimum amount of stairs to encounter.
Selling tickets in these blocks first restricts our choice of seats to facilitate his mobility problems, I understand why the club fills the East Stand blocks first but it can and does create an inconvenience for some of our less mobile fans, can there be something put in place to help fans in this position?

Is there any plan to create an identity on the pitch? One that starts off at youth level and that can be replicated throughout the club to the first team?

What is your favourite Rocky film?
😂 That's probably the level it will be ! If anyone thinks, even though all relevant, that any of these decent questions will be asked and answered then they will be disappointed ! Doubt owners will turn up as they are becoming so distant from the fans they once courted ! Not a chance anyone will get the answers the fans want

Ellis Short failed because he appointed the wrong people in the key positions at the club. They squandered his money & good intentions. He did the decent thing in clearing the debts before he handed over to Donald. All the evidence so far suggests Donald is repeating these mistakes; not just Ross but the recruitment & academy.

Financial solvency is obviously necessary for the club but if finances determine all decisions (scouting, academy, recruitment) then we will continue to fail on the pitch.

Donald has presided over the worst ever season in SAFCs history and looks on course to set a new low bar this year. Is his ego or friendship with people in key roles stopping him from admitting that it’s not working?

SD will probably say Rocky 5 anyway.

1. Quite a few players out of contract in the summer. What's the plan financially if we don't get promoted this season?

2. What is going on with the youth setup? Seem to be getting hammered every week. It's not as if we have a lot of the better youth players in the first team squad (only Benji and Bali).

And obviously...

3. What are the aims of any investment in the club? What level of cash injection is expected to be required if in the championship?

No. In effect SAFC paid off the last £25m of the SBC loan itself. The problem was the conflation of the share purchase and the loan repayment in the amount recorded by Madrox as the cost of investment. The amount Donald paid for the shares was always £15m.

I've no idea who did it for Madrox. If it was the small firm he uses for most of his routine work, I'd not be too confident. The problem really was the ham-fisted drafting of the agreement. FPP's due diligence was done by Deloitte, and the chances of them missing anything material are pretty remote.
Yeah precisely. They seem to have sleepwalked into a few things that I would have thought most major firms would have picked up on. The N'Dong and Alvarez deals also seemed far too much of a shock to Donald when you would expect any firm worth their salt would have flagged them issues immediately.

1) We have numerous players out of contract in the summer, Have contract negotiations with players started or is it dependant on what league we are in?

2) We are going to need a strong January in order to gain promotion, Have targets been identified and is there any financial resource to make the necessary signings?

3) How did Phil Parkinson stand out from any other candidate interviewed during the selection process?

4) Since the summer of 2018, the youth teams (Under 23s & 18s) have played 62 league games, winning 3, drawing 14 and losing 45. What is being done to address this?

5) When Richard Hill was appointed you advised that he joined the club in a 'specific role', however 'no first time duties', Can you explain if this is still the case considering he has actively been involved in first team signings?

6) Richard Hill has been employed alongside Tony Coton as 'Head of Recruitment', Nothing so far at Sunderland suggests the scouting network for either the first team or academy is working, Are the positions up for review or likely to change?

7) The signings in general have proved to be pretty poor, Are the club looking at improving the background team of scouts / making extra funding available for an improved scouting network?

8) In the last 18 months, we have signed 18 first team players whilst offloading 31. Reported fees are at a spend of 4.3M whilst receiving 25.2M. With a floundering scouting system, How can the club to progress and improve under this model?

9) What is the future for Juan Sartori at Sunderland? Since he has came on the books, little financial backing appears to have came from Juan himself. Is he actively involved and likely to be so moving forward?

10) Who leaked the information to Roker Rapport advising that the deal with FFP was completed?

11) When can we expect the loan repayments to be made back to the club?

12) How are the team, realistically meant to hit a target of 100 points despite not spending a penny in the summer whilst significantly weakening the first team? The sale of Cattermole, Honeyman, Oviedo surely freed up further room for reinforcements.

13) What is the latest on Benji Kimpionkas contract?

14) Have you permanently deleted your Twitter account? You have always wanted to remain transparent with the Sunderland fans however we have received very little to no update from the club since results have went downhill.
