Prem League so far

Before I get called patronising, I fully expect us to get relegated this season and wouldn't be too surprised if you replace us.

Looking forward to a trip up to Old Trafford tomorrow, I'm far to old to to call it the 'Theatre of Dreams'. Despite their woes, player for player they earn at least £100k a week more than our side. Should really be an absolute hammering but we all have that dream that it may just be the day.

However, back to my point. I'm not sure the Prem League is absolutely as good as its cracked up to be. Apart from Brighton first game of the season, I've not been hugely impressed by any side we have played.

The main difference is that games at this level are settled by the odd moment of quality. We don't quite have it, the opposition often do.

The atmosphere is dire as well. Away fans make no noise and when I've been away the atmosphere is shocking.

If you do go up next season, tge standard or gap is nowhere near what the media make out.

Good luck against Brum tomorrow. Possibly perfect game for you, Rooney trying to play football with a side not capable of it. With your football you should destroy them.
....the Prem League table suggests otherwise mate.

Hope at least 1 of the promoted teams stay up. A few years ago all 3 did ( or 2?)

promoted teams tend to suffer fade from December often I think

good luck

Could it be because they need not have to step up another gear to beat you?

I’ve seen most of the games and feel Luton are better than:

Sheff United
Bournemouth
Everton
Burnley

No disrespect to Luton and fair play to them for beating us at Goodison but think we've shown over the last 6 weeks or so with players coming into the side that weren't available early on that we're better than Sheffield United, Luton, Bournemouth and Burnley.

I’ve said it loads of times. The PL is actually shit.

It’s probably good fun being a Man City fan and a small amount of other fans for a short period. In our stint we had 1 maybe 2 enjoyable seasons, the rest were ok at best with a few memorable games. Getting battered every week isn’t fun

The championship is my favorite league, it’s actually exciting. The play offs keep it alive for more teams.

You’ve already got more wins and points than I thought you’d get.

I said you'd get something to a mate at pool (Liverpool supporter) and I reckon a point v Man U.

The gaps not that big?
The promoted sides have won 2 games between them and one of those was against each other

It’s like any top division all across Europe. You have a handful of teams that will win the trophies, followed by those that want to win trophies but don’t and then those who have no chance at all of winning trophies. I also think unlike some others that we could go up this season, but the worry then is what next as the last time we were up there it was basically a case of fighting to stay up, which got depressing at the end. I recall watching us play the top sides at home and were camped in our own half and In some cases like against Man City we just defended for 90 minutes in the hope of not conceding and getting a 0-0. The football we now play is very entertaining to watch and that míght be scrapped if we do go up, unless we can of course do a Brighton.

Southampton had one player that cost more than our entire squad but we still beat them 5-0. Anything can happen in football.

It would be a shock if Luton went to Old Trafford and Man Utd got a point.

The gulf in class between the teams promoted and the rest of the league(Bournemouth apart) is huge, yeah there’ll be the odd win and upset but there’s never been a bigger gap from 16th to 18th at this stage of the season then now

Watch very very little prem. however watched the wolves mags game after ours the other week n remember thinking how slick n powerful wolves looked, n theyre just a fodder side really.

Obviously we’d make various changes but our current setup would be even more frustrating in the prem imo. Could see us playing some amazing football yet rarely winning, like Rodgers famous Swansea outfit.
You've seen around 50 games involving those 5 teams? That's dedication!
@hank williams probably has 😂

My point was though it's not all its cracked up to be . The media hype the Prem League up because at the end of the day its their living.

Apart from City, look at European results over the last few years.
The likes of sky and BT are far too obvious nowadays in the way they stanmp down any form of criticism of the Premier league. Whether it be negativity around the styles of play, competitiveness or of course the more serious political issues. We understand why, they are selling a product that depends on the integrity and attractiveness of the Premier league, but it's at a point now where the whole structure of the broadcasting feels like propaganda.
