Pickford wants to stay

The market is crazy atm
Not for keepers. As much as he is highly rated and talented, there's very little chance that a top 4 team will take a punt on him. Nor would they pay big money for a reserve keeper. He's still learning his trade and the jury is out as to whether he really is a top (top) player. I think his next move will be to the next tier down from Top 4, with a big money move a few years down the line once he is an established pl player. I can see him going to Everton for around £15m + add-ons, then Man Utd or Man City a few years later for a bigger fee. Just my opinion

If he went to a top half Premier League team and played every week, I wouldn't begrudge him a move. Same as Henderson and look at how he improved.

He will be starting for us on the first game of the season on a Friday night live on Sky IMO.
I liked Henderson, you could tell he was going to make it. I actually saw him come on against Chelsea away and it might have been his debut, didn't do much mind and I think we conceded 7. We have never recovered from selling him, it sends out the wrong signal completely. Mickey Mouse club. He would have been perfect for us. I don't think he is top top class though, he won't do anything at international level, he is a stereo typical English player, one footed, he doesn't score enough goals, we have still not replaced him though, says it all really.

I was talking to his good mate last night in the riverbar and he reckons he is everton bound which i personally think will be a great move for the boy. Going to a top 4/6 club atm might just be too big too soon, one step at a time. I think he has a massive future

He's a quality player who's living the dream, however, I don't suppose Henderson was that keen to leave but if the club makes it obvious they're happy to sell if the price is right, he'll be flogged to the highest bidder.
Here lies our greatest problem

Who knows what the future holds?. I was in Spain last week and got talking to an old lad at the bar who spotted my son in his Sunderland kit. The old lads grandson is best mates with Pickford. He (Pickford) won't say anything about his future, but he is in the process of buying a new house in the North East...... Could be nowt. Could be significant. Who knows?

If he says he wants away he will get offered whatever the buying club want. If he has to be persuaded, the buying club will have to raise the wages to "tempt" him.
Ass to that, if he did end up staying after saying he wanted away then it turns out to be a nightmare for both the player and the fans.
It's all lip service.

If he goes I'd prefer him to go to a club like Everton too, for exactly the same reasons

Everton are the obvious choice. Liverpool at a push but I think they'll go for Joe Hart instead.

Heard via a route directly linked to JP. From the horses mouth, he stated that he'd defo stay but the club can't afford to keep him i.e. SAFC need the transfer fee!

But you can't talk... thicky! x

Not claiming to be ITK but he HAS been offered £75000 a week from the mags, Id hate to see him go but who could blame him for that. Footballers are not supporters like us! They say what they need to to keeps fans happy! Of course he is going to say (6 weeks ago by the way) I'd never sign for Newcastle what else could he say with the mentality of our fans. "Oh of course id play for Newcastle, Why wouldn't I?" Just in case he upsets Timmy from Pallion!! We have got to get realistic sometimes.
I'm pretty sure he'd take his own legs off with a chain saw before he played for that lot.

Unfortunately that is what 3,5 million pounds a year can do to someone decision making. All this about him buying a new house up here, he buys a new house every other month to invest his money in property.
