Tell me a time when England was English, when we were Celts before the Romans came, erm when we were Angles, Saxons and Jutes, when Sunderland and the North East were in the Danelaw? This hatred of foreigners makes me laugh, since NONE of us are truly native, anymore than the little packi family in your local shop!
Even the name England is derived from the German 'Angleland' ffs!

I wasn't trying to be racist there mate,I'm just saying that in modern times england has become a place where there are too many people that have no real passion for the country. We bend over backwards to accommodate people who give fuck all back,that's what has destroyed a lot of people's passion for this country.The family who run the local shop actually give something back.
 
It's easier not caring as it means I don't have to have summers of heartbreak after perennial shite with Sunderland, and also that I see/hear less of the tedious, bizarrely vitriolic opinions about populations, Roy Hodgson, roots, branches and turnips that you get here/Facebook/Twitter/the pub/the papers.

Germanic tribes migrated everywhere, including France. 1500 years ago we may have had an influx of Germans, but in no way does this mean we're 'German' and not English. Englishness is a way of life; it's not connected with blood.

In a nutshell, you're not making a lot of sense.

Tell you a time when England was English? Christ, ask around the world and people will have a definite view of what constitutes being English and it's a distinct way of life that is easily recognisable.

Well, the Anglo-Saxons who you talk about are not the only migrants to this country, far from it.

If you look at the North East, people in the Durham Coalfields are more likely to have Welsh, French or Irish blood.

My ancestors, having traced my family tree are a mixture of Scottish, Cornish (via France) and Welsh. All people who came to the mines looking for work.

And, what I said, you utter f***ing nipple, is that we are not German. Englishness is a very distinctive culture. I tried to be subtle when pointing out that culture and blood are two entirely different things, and England is a cultural notion not a bloodline. We all are in the Durham coalfields. Considering the place was empty around 1800 they had to come from somewhere to do the work when the mines opened. Of all the counties in England, Durham is probably the least 'Anglo-Saxon' by blood, but then blood means fuck all - what makes us English is our culture, including our traditions and history, and there's no country on this planet that has achieved as much as England pound for pound, whatever Davey and the rest of the left-wing cracker-jacks would attempt to have people believe.

OK 'Nipple', since you seem to like abuse. Yes Im from the Durham area too, and yes people came to Durham from all over the British Isles when the coal was King. It was like the f***ing Klondike. Did you realise how many Scots, Welsh and Irish are descended from the Normans (descended from Vikings) therefore Germanic, the vikings first hand, ..............from Angles and Saxons? Where the fuck do you think people in this country come from, we're all from abroad originally, just look at the dna origins of british people............

Its because of my patriotism that I have turned my back in recent times...

I didnt care for the players in recent years, not my country. Their conduct, their skill (or lack of) and their blase expectation by default seriously pissed me off. To blindly follow twats does not bring success, nor make a man a patriot.

The "Untouchables"... They were not worthy of pulling the hallowed England shirt on. The excuses from this last generation of 'untouchables' were pathetic, blaming the fans for their lack of success. Rooney for example sneering into the camera at the fans with his comments. To play for our country is a privilege, it is done with pride. It comes with great responsibility.

During the last decade we have seen a shower of shit in England shirts who have been so mollycoddled by their clubs that they think they are god like JUST BECAUSE they have an England shirt! They didn't deserve my support. They were an embarrassment to my country - both off and on the pitch.

Ive got behind England this time - for the first time in around a decade. Simply because we have new blood in the squad. Players who have not yet been infected with Ego-itus.

My re-emergence will be complete when the final three 'untouchables' have gone from the squad. BEGONE you bastards, begone!

To play for England successfully you need to have pride in yourself and your country. Hopefully something this new batch will be taught from the outset.

Hoping the nipple bit wasn't aimed at me as I'm far from looking for an argument.
I'm trying to explain my own thoughts as small minded as they maybe.
Being born here made me English,my parents where born here, my grandparents where born here, however my great grandparents are Northern Irish, my bloodline is therefore not 100% English. Barely any bodies will be. I just feel people's passion for England has been dimmed by our multicultural state in general. This for me has spilled over to our national team.also the fact that players for England are ridiculously well off and don't seemingly give 2 fucks about any of us normal football fans
