we have signed two new midfielders...and taken robson's wage back onto the books..so three more CMs being paid from catts money..

if he is first choice-why did we sign hume? if he is not good enoughto be a league one starter-we shouldnt have wasted money on signing him..

Who's the 2 new midfielders we've signed?

to use business parlance-SAFC is a business that is losing money at the operational level, but in addition to the this opex that has to be fund..there is and will be for several years..a huge capital expensditure rwequirement..afrom an investment point of iew..that means you need the capital expenditure to be so good as to generate sufficient return to take care of the operating losses and then generate a proper return above that..thats a big ask..
Would it be such a big ask for you to stop typing with your elbows?

EDIT: I've finally worked out the first post I quoted.

How are we a bad business to buy into when Methven said we were in the best financial position in the EFL six weeks ago? Has something happened?
we are in a great posion now old boy because of the papra money-but thats gooing away next year.
we are a loss making busines snow at operatijg level..and the para monyey can cover that..without the para moeny we would be astonishingly loss making at the current level..

man city want to be sustainable-all clubs do..there is no pplan to be sustainable this year-they are making a loss...
they owner have spent millions on the football team..the club loses money..

Sorry like but football clubs are always going to lose money unless you're selling quality footballers for lots of money.

If you're interested in making money then don't get involved in football.

What? Signing f***ing donkeys in January and screwing up promotion? Strange rule!
breaking the league transfer record in janaury aye..with moeny put in by the owner because the club dont have it..
they signed a proven league one striekr-but came him to a manager who played him out of positon..

what an odd thing to say..most premier league clubs are very profitable.
even rochdale are profitable?
do you seriously think any owner buys a club without the intention of making a profit?
a few did in the old days. but not now.

So Charlie was telling fibs?

A club this size is always going to be loss-making at this level - it's why they need to get their finger out and make sure what should have happened last year happens this time around. And spunking millions on a striker at the last minute isn't a good defence.

And sold the top striker in the league just in case.

Aye in the premier league. We've got to get there. We're not going to get there pissing about as we are. Rochdale will be paying pennies a week, they're shite, lets not be like them

no he wasnt telling fibs-he was speaking in the present tense..people dont invest for the present tense-but for the future..
and stewrat even qualfied it by saying the operational profit charlie mentioned would disapeear if we signed players..
and thats the point..
at league one level forever Safc COULD PROBABLY BE A BIT PROFITABLE..BUT NOT FOR LONG-BECAUSE FANS WOULD DRIFT AWAY IF WE WERENT SENEN TO BE TRYING TOget to the prem..and that requires money..or capital expenditure.

SAFC will never be profitable at League One level without parachute payments

We are fucked. Another summer where we won’t have all business done until deadline day no doubt. If the owners were serious about 100 points they go and get the plays we need and not wait for them to go to a promotion rival because we need somebody on £3k a week off the books! Can’t wait for a 1-1 draw on the opening day of the season.

Ideally, it's going to need to be under £10m (obviously +25-30% if we're promoted) to be compliant in either division with SCMP/FFP in the absence of parachute payments.
This is what some people are struggling to understand. We have to comply with SCMP or FFP. To do so we need to reduce the wage bill.
We don’t have a multi millionaire owner to give us money so we have to be near enough self sufficient.
I’m sure the same people stating we should use the reduction of wages from our big earners to bring more players in would be the first to complain if we get hit by a transfer embargo next year by breaching the regulations.

Given the constraints of both L1 and championship for our wage budget we should be cheering to get rid of players to have options...

We’ve binned Catts who was on about £30-£40k a week, which according to Donald meant we could sign almost half a team in this league. Love must’ve been on about £7-£10k a week too.
Madness. That we’ve not fixed the issues yet and now we have to bin the crap first ha

We do have a multi millionaire owner who said he was going to put in the Parachute payment money as and when is needed . Perhaps it’s needed now so we don’t have to have the rigid one in one out route . Or be in a position where we lose two of our most effective players over the course of one and a half windows

Would a potential way to solve cashflow and income be for the owners to drip feed in some of the cash they owe SAFC @Grumpy Old Man ?
GOM has answered that above mate . It’s not definitive

Dont forget we had to reduce costs due to less chute money

people have to get into their heads SAFC do NOT get to decide how much the spend on wages-league rules determine that...and investors dont contribute to tunriver...unless they do soft stuff like naming rights..which SD got abuse for when it was proposed..

but you highlighted 6-8 signings as something that hasnt happened-when it has. whether they are quality is another matter and somehting more subjective-but they have signed six new first team players..and the widonw isnt shit..so they did what they promised.
This is the 2nd time I've seen you suggest this, have you any proof of it?

I get that we have to be careful with wages this year (as per Roker Report article), still unconfirmed by the club mind. What I don’t get is why did SD state on Twitter, before he left, that several signings were close, they were just haggling over “fees”. Wages to cover of course but all frees so far and we are more than a month in from that statement.
I've obviously missed summit here. What's the crack? Can I trouble @Grumpy Old Man for a quick catch up?
