It’s going to be similar to what’s happening with us. But with the advantage that they’re already in the premier league.

There’s been absolutely nothing concrete about the much talked about “investment” so far, and I don’t agree at all that it would be a good thing to have local councils corrupted by Middle Eastern despots in a similar manner to what has happened in Manchester.


City are a pretty horrible club underneath the facade, and it seems far from clear exactly how great a lot of this “investment” they’ve brought to Manchester really is:

Its very easy for Sunderland fans, or any fans for that matter, to say they would be disgusted at the type of 'ownership' coming in... as I said its all about money, and with money its hoped success, along the lines of City. We ourselves got a bit giddy at the prospect at a Dell consortium, though they don't generally behead their employees, so every Newcastle fan most rightly will get themselves a bit giddy by this news.

How this all pans out is anyone's guess. Regardless of the cash behind their new owners I highly doubt seeing the likes of 100m signings here there and everywhere. But you have to be honest, they could in all probability win a trophy or two, and maybes a premier league title.. if all they are concerned about is being able to get one over on Sunderland fans, these individuals have a very dim view of the whole picture of football overall. Lets be more concerned about getting out of the league we're in.

Premier title you say, when do you predict they will win that? Just for context City have spent over £2.4B on players and wages during the past 5 seasons, that is 10 x times the figure Staveley announced as the mags 5 year budget. I'd say relegation is their more pressing concern.

There is no guarantee that it will as it all rides on what the new owners plan to do.

Investment in Newcastle brings jobs, tourism and then more investment as it snowballs. Some of those jobs will spill over to people and businesses who live in other areas of the north east. My current job is in Newcastle for instance but I don’t live there.

The new owners will certainly want to secure the Mag's future in the Permier League & to me that's more than likely to involve the departure of Bruce. Although it's said that Bruce has a fairly solid contract with NUFC I am sure that new owners will have no problems in coming to some sort of arrangement with him. My guess is that they will go for some big name manger & are likely to have one already lined up.

I havent been following the details that closely Ill admit... the relegation element is of course a major concern for them right now.
