Very interesting video from the 90s not lease for John Hall introducing Newcastle v Barcelona in the European super league  the same John Hall who was outraged at the thought of it last year when it wasn’t going to include them.

I’m confused by that clip. Obviously he wasn’t talking about a super league in the way that term was understood to mean last year, but I can’t think what he’s referring to unless this video wasn’t actually from 1994 at all (it does look later) so either he is talking about the preseason friendly league from 2002 (0-2 loss so seems unlikely) or he is talking about the 3-2 UCL win from 1997 and has just completely got the name of the competition wrong 🤔 did people casually call the UCL the ‘super league’ in the 90’s? I know it went through significant branding changes in ‘92

New member defending John Hall, calling themselves Roker and from Seaham. Come on mate at least try and be discreet

Shame on you using the word Roker

its so f***ing obvious, what a f***ing sad act you are.

Who do you have finishing 7-11? Aside from the big 6 finishing where you would expect them to of course.

Can’t see nufc finishing below 5 of the also rans. West Ham, Leicester and wolves/villa at a maybe, but any of the rest … not for me.

Anywhere between 7th - 10th would be my prediction. All of which would be an improvement and progress on last season

True or false: Shay Given won more trophies in his 17 game spell at Sunderland than in his 354 game spell at Newcastle?
:cool::lol:

How has this wankstain been allowed back on here

Finally given up pretending to support us now have you?

Christ - they are not right in the head when a photo of a former player eating an apple, whilst riding a bike, is considered iconic.

The least knowledgeable football fans around when it comes to the actual game.
Shola’s a cult hero because he’s a local lad and the goals he scored against you lot/in Europe, that’s it. It’s nothing to do with knowledge of the game. The fact that he was rubbish and kept scoring against you made him more of a cult hero TBH.

Christ I thought he was a pup from Brighton’s U23s

They haven’t really got many young players - Botman and Willock are 22. Then the next youngest player is 24.

On the other hand, they’ve given new contracts to Dummett and Schar, and signed Wood, Burn, Pope, Trippier who are all the wrong side of 30. Odd way to go about this steady rise to the top imo

 You’re the mags ffs, you’ll go f***ing beserk if you only finish 10th!

Before the takeover you’d just finished 10th, 13th, 13th, 12th, which was “sheer hell” apparently.

Do you think we’ve just forgotten your behaviour over most of the last 25 years (and more)?

How often do you see or hear a mag fan being interviewed saying “well we aren’t in Liverpool, Manchester, or London, and the Premier League is probably the strongest in the world. 11th or 12th is quite good for us, when you put it in perspective”

It simply doesn’t happen, and seeing how your behaviour has deteriorated even further over the past 2 years, I hardly think you’re about to start now.

We both know that the most likely response from toon supporters to a 10th placed finish is a mass screaming fit outside the stadium, preferably in front of some cameras. God knows we’ve seen it enough times.
