Local, geographical rivalry if it needed explaining.Youve just defined sportswashing
Richest club in the world who will be signing all the worlds best and cleaning up the trophies apparently. So why bother with little ol Sunlun![]()
KSA and Yemen another fine exampleLocal, geographical rivalry if it needed explaining.
If you admit that they are scum that you want no where near your club but your love for Newcastle is too much too stop going then most can accept that, I know I can anyway. It's probably right now though isn't it? This thread has now become ridiculous. Used to come on win, lose or draw and talk about the players, manager or whatever, and it was always decent.
The debate about our ownership (and football ethics and morals in general) is both interesting and worthy. But it's not debate on here, its insults and the same round and round discussions.
People being called terrorist sympathisers, paedophile lovers etc etc by strangers on a message board. Like it's stifled the actual important discussion and its just total nonsense. These are people that have kids, families etc. I thought most people grew out of just hating all things NUFC/SAFC at some point.
If you admit that they are scum that you want no where near your club but your love for Newcastle is too much too stop going then most can accept that, I know I can anyway.
If you signed a petition or use whataboutery in any way to deflect from the fact they are utter scum then you are a terrorist/nonce sympathiser.
It’s not hard really.
But whatabooooot..?KSA and Yemen another fine example
I would say, pretty much that's what most people, certainly what I have read have said pretty much.If you admit that they are scum that you want no where near your club but your love for Newcastle is too much too stop going then most can accept that, I know I can anyway.

Said this a while back on here, but somebody like my dad who's 80, been a Newcastle fan 70 odd year. He doesn't just stop liking the team. He doesn't suddenly become a terrorist sympathiser or a supporter of bombing kids just because his team are owned by KSA.And that's my view.
Or in a language they understand. "Support the team not the regime".
If we'd been bought by the Saudis, I'd not stop being a Sunderland fan. But I'd agree with all the criticism we'd be deservedly getting. I wouldn't be celebrating or defending the owners. I wouldn't be buying the Saudi away kit. I wouldn't be saying "do your kids watch disney".
I'd be nodding in agreement with all the flak we'd be getting.
Most on here do, tbf I agree.I would say, pretty much that's what most people, certainly what I have read have said pretty much.
The are barbaric, shouldn't be allowed to own the club (nor should any nation) but we were here before and will be after, so aren't going to stop supporting the team. That's the gist of what most people say that I have seen.
I appreciate Twitter is different (hence why I avoid it like the plague) but Twitter is full of morons in general from what I can see, qnd shouldn't be used as a barometer for everyone.
And turn a blind eye to little kids being blown up on school busesThey just want to enjoy their football.
I mean I go with the same 6 lads I have for years, and don't really talk football with many other Newcastle fans on any sort of regular basis, but that's the opinion of them really. It's sad that modern football has us in a place where this even needs to be discussed really. Most on here do, tbf I agree.
Only mags I know (play football with them) can’t get enough of the ‘Saudi Mags’ ‘Disney Uber’ shite, and that’s about 10/12 of them. So I don’t think it’s a case of ‘most people’ tbh.
Paedo jibes, the mag’s favouriteGot some nerve with his track record

Paedo jibes, the mag’s favourite
Another one who thinks people deserve a medal for going to the match. Its a game of footie man, your da does it by choice, its a pastime, not a f***ing war he is going to. The self pitying is off the scale man. 'He has been going to the games for x amount of years, so fuck morals, fuck Yemenis, fuck gay rights, fuck womens rights, fuck 11 year old girls rights, fuck journalists rights, cos we now have chris wood up front'.Said this a while back on here, but somebody like my dad who's 80, been a Newcastle fan 70 odd year. People can want the team to do well and not like the owners. I think that's the standpoint for most nufc fans. They will want the team to do well no matter who the owner is whether the owner is liked or not.
What we've got now with social media and online discussion, especially with Twitter, is a spotlight on the most stupid of views.
Majority of people don't bother with Twitter or social media discussion. But the ones that do take a position and argue it no matter what. Gets to the point where there's no room for nuanced debate, no common ground. We see it all the time in politics, for example somebody says something about Joe Biden on Twitter, the comments in the replies are all about trump.
There's no central ground or common points agreed on.
Newcastle owners are bad. Newcastle fans don't all support the murder of Yemeni civilians.
Most probably didn't care that much beforehand and probably don't care that much now. They just want to enjoy their football.

You are the fella that makes scenarios up in your own head.Enjoy your night tooWell it appears you've completely disregarded what I posted and replied to an argument in your own head. You seem a bit wound up at yourself. Enjoy your night.
