He's f***ing gutted he's not in Milan. Have they showed him Byker yet? You know where Ant & Dec live.

They're buying the 3rd kit in their droves man. Its a Saudi National shirt wifth a Mag badge on. Defend & deflect every criticism. Have a word with yourself.
You've even got that moron form Spennymoor, further back in this thread, standing with his daughter (I presume) and proclaiming they support the Saudis by wearing it.
How anyone with daughters knowing how girls and women are deemed and treated by them can do that is utterly beyond me.

It's like standing with your family Labrador offering your support to Dog Fighting and Puppy Farms.

100k of your fans signed a petition asking the government to let the Saudis buy you.

That's 100k who supports and endorses the Saudis.
Jesus Christ Binxy man follow the thread.

It was 100k supporting the takeover. Not the Saudis per se, the takeover. I've said it countless times now, if another group had a bid accepted the fans would have wanted that one. But the Saudis were the ONLY horse in town.

But if the Saudis were the only horse in town, over 100k supported the Saudis.

You’re honestly thick as a castle wall.

Keep telling yourself that.

What if the bid was from the Venkys, that rich energy bloke or some other skint knacker?

After all you just wanted rid of Ashley, right?

You’re contradicting yourself here. The Saudis were the only horse in town yet 100k still signed the petition for the takeover

You've already said a couple of posts back that it was "the only game in town" so yes, they were supporting the Saudis and the Saudis only.
They were marching on Parliament man and don't try to insult folk by saying it was "anyone but Ashley" they saw the petro-pound signs you know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

The blokes deluded, he's convinced himself it would have been the same (petitions, lobbying MPs, partying after takeover) if it had been anyone else.

They are awful and shouldn't own any football club. But they do. UAE shouldn't own a football club, but they do. Qatar shouldn't own a football club, but they do.

I haven't seen any Newcastle fan defend their regime on here. I've seen Newcastle fans explain, with a great deal of patience, that Newcastle fans aren't supporting Saudi Arabia by continuing to support the club they've supported their whole life and will continue to support after the Saudis are gone.

Hell, a new government might see the Saudis booted out.

For what it's worth I agree that for me, the United in Pride group let themselves down with their stance and statement. However, as a straight man it's not really my place to tell a minority groups how they should make or take their position.

I've not met a single fan who're celebrating that regime. You're mental if you think the pervading opinion among Newcastle fans is that that regime is worth celebrating. I've seen Newcastle fans on here call out that regime, I know I have.

Could there be more public condemnation? Sure. I'd be curious if, once the buzz of the takeover dies down, there are anti-Saudi banners held up by groups amongst NUFC fans.

I hope there are.
As I said, I know it's not ALL Newcastle fans, I live and work within Newcastle and I know there is genuinely supporters who think the way you say, I have close friends who think that way, but, none of them are vocal about it. It's all well and good coming onto a rival teams message board and calling Saudi out for there atrocities, but you have to understand that it just looks like appeasing rival fans rather than actually believing in those words.

Mike Ashley had condemnation, shop protests, ground protests & constant online hate (you could argue he still gets it), with the argument of zero hour contracts added to the football side to make it look worthwhile, The Saudi's are a million times worse than he ever was or is, and haven't had a thing said about them, other than on a Sunderland message board. That's the issue here, it's not actually going to make a difference saying things on here is it? Why? Because it's away from the national media's eye, it's so discreetly said, it's 'I'll say the truth here, but it's fine, because no one will know or hear or care or ever notice'. You're saying it your biggest rivals fans, who, when call things out, just get accused jealousy. It's the perfect platform for a Newcastle fan to make themselves look like the only sane fan, the only fan who can notice the Saudi's for what they really are, then slip away, back to reality and celebrate having loads of blood money.

I do hope you're right about Anti Saudi flags, do I believe it will happen, no. Not a chance in my opinion, but I'll happily be proven wrong on that.

I just think Newcastle United fans have an enormous platform to try and promote change in a country that people are so desperate for it, they should be taking that on, not lapping it up and acting like there's nothing wrong. Likewise fans of Man City & PSG should be doing also, because some things are much, much bigger than Football.

... you haven't understood.

The 100k signed a petition to push through the takeover. There wasn't any other takeover to get behind. Ashley accepted 1 bid. It was this takeover or stay with Ashley. So.. yeah you haven't understood.

You aren't even convincing yourself man. Where was all the support for Kenyon etc? As soon as you lot knew it was Steveley backed by the Saudis it was all guns blazing and you know it.

Don't disagree with anything you've said here. Bar where I say it, I'm quite happy to say it on here, on Newcastle boards, in pubs, in the office or wherever. The Saudi regime is vile. I've never defended them on here or anywhere else.

I think the issue I have is the conflation of supporting Newcastle and supporting/celebrating Saudi Arabia. I don't think that's the case at all.

I can't walk away from my football club.

Were there any other bids accepted by Ashley?
