Add Joelinton onto that. It’s a pretty shit list. I’ll give them Andy Cole. Ferdinand they took off him.

Impressive list of werld class centre forwards

Shearer and Ferdinand the only two that I'd say were exceptional in my lifetime.
Martins, Cisse (to start with) and Rondon did decent enough stints. The rest has been mostly rubbish.

Arguably the best striker we have had since Shearer (Ba) didn't even wear number 9.

I forgot Cole, he was exceptional too.
Tbf Poppins and Ferdinand were class
Wasn't Messi linked with a move to the mags because he wanted to be one of the privileged few to put on the holy number 9 shirt of Newcastle United?
he‘ll do for me kidda

In Wetherspoons in Byker. A group sitting next to me just did a brief rendition of “we hate sunlun” followed by the classic “shoes off if you love toon”!

The Fairs Cup and Number 9 shirt are meaningless to the whole of UK supporters. Apart from Sunderland. Thats why they should always be encouraged on this board. You just cant help yourselves can you

The fairs Cup 🤣 I've always preferred your lot's special relationship with cup despite not winning it since what 1955? Your last major honour

Famous nowhere but Newcastle

not like the famous seven for Ronaldo, 10 for pele etc, genuine iconic shirt numbers.

mag bullshit which succeeds in confirming the belief that they are absent of the self awareness gene in their dna.

Looking at it as objectively as is possible with these things, that was pretty much my take too.

It is all over the place, not just publications in/from Newcastle.

Wilson won't stay fit enough to make too much of an impact at Newcastle though.

Three fabulous strikers who helped the club peak at the time of the TV revolution.

This has always given them a false sense of their standing in the game. The debt was unsustainable and they never won anything to repay it.

Their fans hate Ashley but he's run the club as a business and the reality of their sustainable ambitions have become clear in doing so. The club needs to let go of their 90s lie.
