Last week on way to London, the Grand Central missed out Hartlepool and Eaglescliffe and went via Darlington due to works on the line

I can’t see any scheduled trains on their website. Means waiting extra time for the overcrowded Northern
I can’t see any sign of that on the GC website mate. I’d definitely double check this.
One option is 2 busses and nearly double the journey time…

I’ve paid for it now mate, getting picked up at 6pm, daughters with us and didn’t want the bairns on a rammed train.
Bloody hell, how times change. I remember going on the train to games on my own when I was eleven !
