Nissan

This page is unbelievable. People putting 2 and 2 together and getting 5. Spreading rumours which only makes people worry. Wait until people are told something factual then make a comment rather than I think your rumour is correct.
Build down 20% cant keep staff on common sense

People will always speculate
People will know stuff before others in all walks of life
The 9000 job cuts across all nissan announcement
Needs to be addressed by nissan sunderland management ASAP
Or rumours will continue on daily basis unfortunately
That's how things always go in situations like this unfortunately
But what if Co say no job cuts and something happens later they would get slated. I'm sure if they new anything for definite then they would put something out.

Fingers crossed they do sooner rather than later. As otherwise speculation will continue. People's lives in limbo at moment which is sad to see. But surely some pre planning will been have been made . To make such a sweeping statement that 9k jobs were to go . For me I don't see how they can cut even more jobs at Sunderland unless it goes to 1 shift . But we will see how it pans out over the coming weeks . Fingers crossed Sunderland is left alone to crack on during this difficult period in the whole automotive industry

Sunderland factory staff won’t be touched. Our sup told us we had already pre pared for this with the slow line speed and staff moved around. It’s anything it will be office staff but mainly outside of Nissan

I presume Sunderland make cars only for the domestic and European market so won’t be affected by the US market or Trumps tariffs?

You really are the prophet of doom. No one’s lives are in Limbo. The company has already said they don’t plan to cut production any further than they already have.

Never been called that before like 👍
Always air on the side if caution tbh
Hopefully prosperous days ahead for the Tenko mob then mate 👍

While I don't work there, as is the case with nearly everyone from the City, we all know people employed either directly or indirectly by them.

Fingers crossed Sunderland unscathed job cuts wise

The battery plant is owned by AESC which is a JAPANESE company

Automotive Energy Supply Corporation (AESC) is a manufacturer of lithium ion batteries for electric vehicles established 2007 as a joint venture between Nissan, and Tokin Corporation. Since 2018 Chinese company Envision is a strong partner in the joint venture.

The battery plant is owned by AESC which is a JAPANESE company
AESC was a joint battery venture between Nissan and Japanese electronics group NEC before the Envision acquisition four years ago. The Chinese group owns about 80% of AESC, which has a small global market share but is quickly expanding.

Head out the sand again do some research i personally know the senior there he was in china for 3 months its 80 % Chinese owned and all equipment is Chinese owned
