They have absolutely thrown together that new Leaf trying to play catch up. Slacked off after the success of the first leaf as electric cars were just coming in, thought that’s our work done here and have now realised they are in deep water and need to get something out with all the net zero bollocks kicking about.
If that doesn’t sell it’s well and truly tits up.
Line one 2010-2019 3 shifts, 2019-2025 2 shifts, 2025 1 shift.
It doesn’t take a genious to work out that the place is in rapid decline and the philosophy of that place is the most amount of graft with the least amount of people.
I’d be well happy with building a few cars a day me tho, but that ain’t gonna happen.
They could just get rid of new starters though rather than paying decent redundancies.
Get rid of a new starter on buttons and keep paying longer serving employees a lot more plus the contributions to their pensions, I don’t think so.
There’s a reason they have changed the terms and conditions of the new starters pensions, again, doesn’t take a genius.

always cheaper in long run to get rid of long term staff with better terms and conditions etc.

Also get rid of bad blood, peoples tuck in ways or have to much power / say / disruption.
Yeah that’s it mate, money made back in a few years. Thats why they are constantly asking staff to come up with cost saving ideas to save them hundreds of thousands per year and in return you get to stay at a hotel in seaham
 
It’s not. It’ll filter down to 20 years with same criteria man staff will not be considered at all and the Compnay Council have not been involved in this either
So if they don’t get the required numbers it won’t go to production staff ? Some of who are on almost double a new starter ?

Cannot see them letting any production staff that are pensionable age and still unlucky enough to still be online go, line speed and overtime will sicken them off and they will go of there own accord.

Yes that’s what we were told. They’ll drop the years service and adjust the payout

That’s why there’s 6 lads across the plant who have well and truly been shafted. Had their forms in to retire yet have been told they’re getting nowt

They aren’t going to make it known are they are lads will either not put retirement forms in or will take them out they said refinances arent coming at all not long back
 
No but to say to 6 lads ‘Fuck yous’ after over 35 years service is shit. I’ve seen lads into their last 2 days of employment still get it it as the recaps were announced before they had actually left

Also the farce where they would move supervisors into higher shift premium jobs a year before they left to boost their pension, just shows that the type of company they are

That’s 300k they have saved it’s shit but it’s juts unfortunate
 
I'm hearing only 70 odd have put in for it no where near the 250 they after and 3 leaders from same zone and shift have all put in for it doubt they let all 3 have it as that's all the experience gone

They've not passed any of their experience or knowledge down in the last 25yrs? Great leadership
 
There is no offer it’s a set amount
Should be 75k at least for 25 years service. People were getting 30k for 10 years service only 6 years ago (and that was man staff.)
This new one is ideal for anyone going in the next 2 years but that’s about it. 50k is nout for someone not close to retirement.
