Claiming either of those as a recognised European trophy smacks of desperation and epitomises the mindset of the average morlock.

They’re doomed to another season of struggling to avoid the drop, being a punchbag and a practice match for the big clubs to hone their skills on. Another season of hoonding the manager, boycouuts, prertests, questions in the house, and desperately trying to be relevant. SSDD for the mugs.

You mentioned hounding out managers, so I went with a popular line on here, "Pardew got you fifth and you hounded him out"... then used Jack Ross' 5th place finish and Sunderland fans displeasure with said finish as the basis of the joke.

It was a solid joke. The audience's fault.
